Planning a wedding was hard, what kind of flowers? Who was comming? Who was sitting with who? One thing kate didn't have to think about was her dress.. at least that was she thought.
Kate had the day off and was reading the newspeaper. Rick had to go to a meating, so he left early but first left her a cup of coffee. He never forget to make her coffee. It was stil early but she couldn't sleep that late without having him in bed to cuddle. She'd never imagined she would love someone this much and was ready to marry the man she truly loved.
Kate smiled to herself, thinking about the wedding made her smile every time. She was just getting used to the fact she was going to share her life with Rick, but she wouldn't want to have it any other way.
She heard a knock on the door, it was still early and she wondered who it could be, Rick couldn't be home this early?. She opened the door and saw her dad standing with a big box in his hands. "Dad?'' She spoke ''Hey katie, I'm sorry i stop by uninvited but…'' before he could finish his sentence she said ''It's not a problem dad, you're always welcome'' He gave her a warm smile. She took his coat and gave him a cup of coffee. ''Dad, not that I mind but why are you here?'' Jim took one sip from his coffe and began to talk ''Katie, your wedding is coming soon and I couldn't be happier for you and I know you are going to be a beautiful bride. When I married your mom she looked so beautiful and I was so very nervous'' Kate smiled, she saw the pictures from the wedding and her mom really looked beautiful. ''Me and your mom kept the wedding dress hanging in the closet and I never took it away…'' He opened the box and kate saw a breath taking wedding dress. ''This is your mom's wedding dress, I like you to have it. I'm not saying you need to get married in this dress but I know she would love for you to have it.'' Kate was speechless, she already had a dress but this one was just beautiful and she knew for sure Rick would love it. Her dad spoke again. ''Katie? I know it's hard for you to talk about your mom but it felt right to give you this.'' Kate felt the tears coming, she missed her mom very much and especially with the wedding and all, she knew she would love all this. ''Dad this is amazing, it's so beautiful. I want to get married in this dress'' Kate saw tears forming in her dad's eyes. ''Katie I'm so happy, you're going to look beautiful, absolutely beautiful''
For two hours Kate and her dad talked about Johanna, they laughed, cried and relived memories. Kate missed her so much, she knew she would have loved Rick. She was about to marry her mom's favorite writer, ofcourse she would have loved him. She would always miss her mom but now she had Rick and he made it easier for her to think about her or talk about her, because he always was there to listen and to make her feel better.
Two weeks later, Kate married the man she loved in the dress she loved.
