This is my take on Jack telling Gwen he can't die in Torchwood.

It's kind of the same as on Torchwood, but I added the lyrics to Tourniquet by Evanescence in because I thought they would go quite well! Please review!

"I can't die"

"You what?"

Gwen's face was full of confusion. She knew she'd met him somewhere before, but where?

"His name began with a J; John, Jack, James, Jack, Jack, Jack…"

"Something happened to me a long time ago. I was dead, but the defender of the Earth saved me. Why I don't know. I wasn't worth saving. I was a con-man."

Jack looked in pain. He was remembering something, something that he would love to happen again, but it can't. It was a happy moment, so why so much pain?

I tried to kill the pain, but only brought more

"Who are you? Who's the defender of the Earth?"

The pain was too much. Jack sat down on the cold concrete floor in Cardiff and tried to figure out the emotions running through his head. Anger, lust, pain, happiness, wanting…

I lay dying and I'm pouring crimson regret and betrayal

"Jack, Jack Harkness?"

"Those pills didn't work then did they?" Jack said smiling.

I'm dying, praying, bleeding and screaming

Silence aired around Jack.

"Why did she leave me?"

"What? Who left you?"

Jack sounded like a lost school boy, waiting for his mum to pick him up.

Except that he knew she wasn't coming.

It's a bit short but never mind!
