Doctor Who
How "Doomsday" Should Have Really Ended
"Hold on, Rose, hold on!" The Doctor yelled as Rose did her best to hold on to the lever as millions of Daleks where pulled passed her into what The Doctor described as Hell.
"I'm trying," Rose yelled back. "Oh, Doctor, help me."
As the words passed by her lips, she could feel her grip loosen on the lever. Without warning, her hands let loose and she felt herself being pulled toward her doom.
"Rose!" The Doctor yelled.
But Rose had resigned herself to her fate. Time seemed to slow, as it always did when her life was in danger. Her memories of the past two years began to flash before her eyes. Her first meeting of man known as The Doctor, her first meeting with the imprisoned Dalek deep below the Earth, their battles in time and space, her destiny as the 'Bad Wolf'. They all flashed before her eyes in that brief moment as she hurtled towards the Void.
And suddenly she felt herself stop. The last of the Daleks whizzed by her and she felt the Void close behind her. Turning her head, she saw the face of her savior.
"Mum," she whispered. "But how? You should have been pulled in to."
"Oh I couldn't leave you, Rose," Jackie Tyler told her daughter. "I've been without your father for twenty years now, but I couldn't stand to be without you."
Jackie hugged her daughter as The Doctor strode over, a smile on his face.
"Jackie Tyler, I never knew you had it in you," he told her. "And here I thought I'd lost the both of you."
As though his very words always brought trouble, so to did they now. Without warning, the two women were hit almost simultaneously by a ray of intense energy so powerful that it literally scrambled their insides. They had been exterminated.
"NO!" The Doctor shouted.
"Oh, but yes, Doctor," a very familiar voice intoned behind him. "And now, finally, after all these years you too shall be ex-ter-mi-nat-ed!"
Filled with rage, The Doctor turned. There, standing beside the Dalek calling himself Sek stood the one being more feared that the Daleks themselves. Their creator…
"Davros," The Doctor whispered.
And that's how Season Two should have ended. None of that sap-happy stuff that really happened with Rose going off to live on a parallel Earth all happy and rich with her mum and dad and Mickey. Give us a cliffhanger for crying out loud. This may be the new show, but give us something to while away the next 170 days with and not whatever they have planned for Christmas.
