The snow lay untouched, as the new king of Vegita, and the heir to Vegeta's princely throne, as everyone enjoyed a feast fit for damsels and knights. "Hail to our new king! Vegeta's finally retired." said his friend, Goten.
"Hmmm..." Trunks said solemnly as he stared across the table to the damsel in her petite frame, sipping some champagne. "Yes..."
Goten stared at his friend in awe, and stared at what he was looking at. "Ah - love is an undying word." He nodded his head, and Trunks splat some pancakes on his face.
"Keep shut." He hissed.
His sister, the second heir to the throne, was sipping quietly beside his love. Pan. As both conversed about the new student that was found sleeping in math class. They giggled. She giggled.
Trunks sat on his bottom, thinking of how to say it to her.
"ATTACK!" yelled a man out of their walls. "SOME ONE'S ATTACKING!"
Vegeta, not hearing this played with his lumpy potatoes, and sent off the fat conceited pig. "Go ahead..."
Pan not worrying about her sake, but for Trunks, dashed outside, stepping on her dress, cutting it to thigh length. "Don't worry..." she yelled as she dashed out the door, and onto the now disturbed snow.
"No..." said Gohan, as he ran after her. Trunks followed him. "Pan... "
Trunks knew her father, Gohan, would be worried for her, but he was as well. He loved her. He didn't want her hurt.
But as they entered the fresh battlefield, no sign of any one. No living people at least. All gone. One still breathing, got to her knees, and toppled over the crimson colored snow.
Trunks darted to her side, and lifted her head, and asked her if she was alright. "I'm sorry... their all dead yes. But I'm afraid..." she winced, and lifted her hand from her side, revealing the deepest wound.
"No... I won't let you go... not now... we'll get married, and have children... and we'll die old together. Not now." Trunks sobbed.
Pan with her last breath worded these last words before drifting away from the living realm. "I... I'm sorry if I wasn't good enough.... for you..." her head tilted left, and her eyes closed. Revealing a pale, dead, yet beautiful corpse of the one he loved.
Trunks let tears splash her face, revealing his true feelings. "It wasn't you... I'm sorry... that I let you down."
Trunks then yelled his heart out, professing his undying love. But as he screamed, a ghostly shadow stood by his side, and echoed through his ear. "I won't go to heaven... not yet... not without you. Not until you go. I'll always be waiting. Waiting for you...." and Pan's shadow disappeared, leaving sobs throughout the entire household. "For the sake of the king... my greatest job was protecting you, my love." were her last real words, heard in Trunks' ear.
