Sooo yeah this is the shortest thing I have ever written, but I really wanted to write something so I wrote this :)
It's Okay, Blaine
"Cooper?" a fragile voice whispered in the dark.
The man made lump on the bed shifted from side-to-side as a sleepy groan filled the silent room.
Blaine wondered over to the lump he called his brother, prodding the side to get his attention much like he did when he was only young and wish for attention from his brother or his parents or even anyone that would listen.
"Cooper, I-I had a nightmare," he tried again, try to push the lump on the bed "-I mean I had... "t-the nightmare"."
That's what they had started to call it after it happen so many times.
The "lump" (or his brother as Blaine's parents had insisted he called him) rolled from the side he was facing to Blaine's.
"Hey little bro," Cooper's voice broke with sleep. He smiled warmly at his younger brother despite his interrupted sleep.
The last thing someone needed after a nightmare like that is an annoyed face which sadly Cooper knew Blaine would have received from their parents.
That and a "tut" of the tongue, followed by "Stop being childish Blaine and go back to bed."
But Cooper wouldn't do that, "not this time" he reassured himself.
He knew the routine by now: Pull back the covers, wait for Blaine to get in, then ask the question.
"Blaine, what was the dream about?"
"Coop you know w-"
"Blaine."
Blaine sighed, his brother did this every time, making it seem like it wasn't a regular thing- like he didn't always have to look at his life and wonder why that one memory brought him so much more pain.
Blaine was a little bit thankful for that, his brother trying to make it seem like it wasn't a big deal, like he wasn't some damaged kid who would always have that nightmare no matter how old he got.
"The Dance" he answer quietly. That was all Blaine needed to say.
"Okay." Cooper would say, just like every time this happened.
And then he pressed a kiss to the top of Blaine's gel-free head, wrapped his arm around his shoulders and lulled his baby brother to sleep.
Blaine would find it some what embarrassing that he need his big brother to keep him safe while he slept, like he a 5 year old who need to be protected from the monsters under his bed. But he never objected to his brother's warmth, he did enjoy it and after all it did help.
And help was the one thing he needed to do for his brother because that's what big brothers are for right?
Making everything better, making the pain go away.
Not running away from everything, not running away from their own pain.
Not this time.
Not again.
Sooooooooo yeaaaaaaaaah :)
