"Prr, prr meow" he thought as he eyed Scabbers suspiciously, while the so-called rat wandered around looking as confused as it always did. They were settled in the Burrow, waiting for the summer break to be over so they all could continue to another year at Hogwarts. However, since the vicious murderer Sirius Black whom had escaped from his cell in Azkaban, was on the loose, Scabbers had been acting more strange than usual Crookshanks had noticed. And as the cat it was, it couldn't just leave such behaviour behind, it was in its nature to investigate such matters.
It really hadn't taking much time for the red, flat headed cat to find out the truth about the "rat" whom had lived with the Weasley's for nearly 12 years. Now the plan was for the cat to chase down the rat, so everyone could see what and who Scabbers truly was.
"meeeow meow mee meow meow meoowww" Crookshanks kept saying as he tried to give Scabbers a warning that he knew what was going on, "meow meow meowmeow" and the rat was already running on its tiny feet, trying to escape the cat who have now decided to chase it down. "Crookshanks!" Hermione called as she saw where her cat was going, "..don't.." she tried to fetch her cat before Ron noticed anything, knowing he would go berserk if he found out Crookshanks had once again chased after his rat. "MEOW" Crookshanks thought as he realised Hermione was trying to get his attention and wanted her to listen. Despite the fact that Crookshanks so badly wanted to catch the rat and now had blown a shot, he couldn't get himself to forget the mere fact that it indeed was his owner Hermione whom has chosen to give him a home when nobody else seemed a bit interested in him. She was his owner after all and he wouldn't by any chance gamble her trust, worried about earning a place on the street or in that awful animal store again. "Meow meowmeow meeow meowmeow" he though to himself as he walked over to Hermione again, preparing himself to lie in the chair in the rear corner where he would slowly begin drifting into the land of dreams.
