Yay for writing words! I'm back in the game folks. Lemme know what you think!

Special thanks to the betas at PTB.

Also, my penname changed. I was previously EdwardsLittleCullen. I don't know, should I go back to that?

Enjoy!

Prologue

The smell of fear was thick in the air as the night clouds shifted to cover the moon, enveloping the forest in darkness. I raised my head, greedily breathing in the sweet smell of adrenaline and sweat. I was close—that much was obvious. The loud throb of her heartbeat increased in tempo, acting as a metronome to my twisted symphony. I could hear the thick blood rushing through her veins.

This was my favorite game. The hunt. The chase. It's comical really, the desperate look of panic in the eyes of my prey as they take off like a bat from Hell. It was a simple game of cat and mouse—a game I always won.

However, I will admit, this time was slightly more interesting. I no longer had the human's thoughts as a guide to lead me in a straight path to their location. No, this time I only had the enhanced smell of the sweetest wine I have ever encountered. It was overpowering and it surrounded me. I flicked out my tongue, moistening my bottom lip and growling as if I could already taste her in my mouth.

With the slightest turn of my head and a small step forward, I met a pair of fearful chocolate eyes. I chuckled and ripped away the useless piece of foliage she attempted to shield herself with.

I snatched her wrist and pulled her to her feet. "I win. What do you say, sweetheart, best two out of three?" I smiled, taking her silence as an agreement. "How about I give you till the count of…does fifty sound fair to you?" Her eyes filled with tears and I lifted my hand to gently stroke the moisture off her cheek.

"Ready to play, sweetheart?" I smirked wickedly, my teeth shining in the dead night. Leaning in, I brushed my lips lightly across her face, bringing them to her ear.

"Run."
