AN: I like this idea. I will be working on this story and A Rose Without Thorns. I feel like I like to start these stories and not finish them. I got the idea for this story after reading a one shot about Koenma not letting Yusuke go to America because there was no point. Not if there were already freelance demon hunters there already. So I thought, why not? I hope you like it. Enjoy!

"That son of a bitch! I'm gonna kill that little fuzzy bastard!"

The loud yelling was coming from a young woman no older than sixteen. Her shoulder length brown hair was plastered to her face in places. Mud and 'other things' covered her entire body as she sloshed out of the pit of brown filth. A taller young woman raced over, a frown marring her pretty face.

"Kayla, I warned you that he'd be tricky. Foxes usually are." She said to the young girl before racing after the flash of silver fur. Kayla growled and raced after the fox, her ability to run hindered by the drying filth. Kayla watched as her partner's long brown hair disappeared behind the thickening forest. A loud scream rang throughout the woods, unsettling the birds in the trees.

"Corey!" Kayla skidded around a tree only to freeze, her eyes wide. Corey was tied up with her hands above her head. Some vines were tightening around Corey's body slowly crushing her. Kayla could see the tears in Corey's eyes.

"KILL THIS ASSHOLE!" Kayla jumped as Corey screeched at the top of her lungs. The sound jolted Kayla into action. She raised her hand and made a gun with her index finger pointing at the fox standing near Corey. The tip of her finger began to glow brightly.

"Super Pow!" Kayla yelled before the light shot out of her finger and headed straight for the fox. The fox let out a screech before easily avoiding the blast of light and disappearing into the undergrowth. Kayla winced as the small blast took out a few trees. The local hippies were gonna kill her.

"Kayla." Corey whispered. Kayla raced over and tore at the vines, but they kept growing back and covering Corey's body. Kayla could feel panic settling in as Corey's frantic movements began to slow.

"Corey!" She yelled tearing into the vines with renewed vigor. Kayla froze feeling a spike in demonic pressure. But as soon as it came it it vanished. What the hell was that, she thought. Kayla jumped back as the vines slowly began to recede revealing Corey. Kayla caught Corey's limp body as the vines constricting her wrist disappeared.

"Corey? Come on, Corey! Wake the hell up." Kayla yelled shaking the limp form of her partner. Corey groaned and her eyes fluttered open. She gasped and sat up, clutching her chest. Kayla heaved a sigh of relief as she rubbed soothing circles into Corey's back.

"We're outmatched." Corey whispered. "He knows somehow."

"Knows what?" Kayal asked scooting away as Corey sat up. Corey met Kayla's hazel eyes with her darkening brown orbs.

"He knows how we work. It's almost like he's worked with spiritual humans before." Kayla's eyes widen. If the demon had worked with people similar to them, then things were gonna get tougher. Kayla leaned forward to discuss possible strategies with Corey. Neither noticed the blazing green eyes behind them.
