They stood side by side while looking out at the sky. They sipped on what was supposed to be fruit juice and seltzer water. Working on the third cup, he decided that this juice was a bit different than any he'd had before. It was making him woozy. He looked to his right to see her face. Her cheeks were flushed, as if she'd been practicing Sky Fu vigorously. She was holding onto the railing for balance. He too felt unsure of his feet and his vision was obscured, as if he had no peripheral vision and could only see what was in front of him. He smiled as he looked down at her. She was kind of adorable in this state. Her speech was drawn out and just a touch above slurred. He couldn't help but smile a genuine smile seeing her look at him with her intense amber eyes. He listened to her as she spoke to him.
"Before, I never paid attention to how hot you really are. You were always hiding away on the ship. After spending some time with you, I often found myself thinking about you when I'm alone. I can tell you anything and you don't belittle me nor do you ignore what I say. You make me feel like I'm here, like I matter. Do you feel me staring at you while you're at the helm of the ship? I do it so often that I'm afraid that I'll get caught." She laughed nervously, blushing as she continued, "I notice the way you grip the wheel, how you move while maneuvering through the sky. You've got lean muscle under that uniform shirt. Not too big and not at all too slight. I've wondered for a while now what it would be like to have you hold me like you do the controls and how it would feel to…to kiss you."
He looked at her with wide eyes as his head spun. He grabbed her after she said that. He didn't know if he'd grabbed her because the room was spinning or for what she had just said. Did she really think of him like that? Rather than dwell on the 'why' of it, he decided to hold her close to him and slowly dropped his head to hers and closed the distance between their lips. The kiss was very soft at first and then it became passionate. He flicked his tongue at her bottom lip for permission to enter and proceeded to wrestle her tongue with his. He received a deep groan from her in response and at that, felt warmth and a tingle in the pit of his stomach that made his heart skip a beat.
The kiss turned into more as time went on. Hands explored each other clumsily, through a haze of spinning rooms and throbbing heads but through that haze, there was an unstoppable feeling of passion that wouldn't be denied. Fire burned throughout their bodies as they explored each other with moans of approval and discovery.
He'd often sit with her after everyone else was asleep and talk about things he'd read in the latest scientific journal. He would dog ear any article on crystals that he came across in his magazines. She'd always light up with the most brilliant smile. He had always found her to be beautiful but he'd never thought she'd go for a guy like him. She was free and adventurous, while he was cautious and happy with routine. She was beautiful, out-going and always well-received, while he was creepy looking (he'd heard), introverted and often misunderstood by those who first met him. Never did he believe this could happen between them. It was like a dream and if it was a dream, he was going to go with it. If this were real, he wouldn't be this lucky. It has to be a dream…
