Percy watched helplessly as Annabeth wandered around blind and alone. He felt like screaming, the pain was tremendous. Somehow he found the strenght to raise his blade. He slashed through tons of Arai, one after another.

He bounded towards her, calling out her name.

"Annabeth, I'm right here, we'll fix this, I promise."

Annabeth stumbled and tripped, turning her body so she hit the ground on her back. She cried out in pain but recovered quickly. She stretched out her arms and yelled, "Percy?!"

"I'm right here, I'll find a way to fix this, I promise, Annabeth?"

She turned in a three sixty, a look of fear on her face, "Percy?"

"I love you."

From where he was standing he could see the shine of a tear on her cheek. "I love you too."

Percy was about to say something else when he heard the swoosh of the arai going past him. He raised his sword and slashed through another.

Suddenly his insides felt like they were boiling, worse then the fire water. He felt like he was being cooked from the inside out.

"You have chose, the death of Phineas, An excellent painful death. " The arai hissed all at once.

Percy doubled over, coughing from the pain.

"I'm sorry." He croaked.

"YES!" They shrieked with delight, "He regrets his failed life, his crimes against the children of tartarus."

"No, I'm sorry Bob. I should've been a better friend. Forgive me, protect Annabeth."

It was a helpless plea, why would Bob answer him twice. It cleared Percy's conscious though, maybe he would help Annabeth, help her get out of here.

Percy stood, pulling his sword arm up for defense. He was about the slash through the arai when they bursted into dust. Bob's broom slashed through all of them, not being cursed once. The arai flew away from fear. Bob put his hand on Percy's chest, "Owie, very very big owie."

Percy closed his eyes sighing, the ringing in his ears faded and he could see clearly again. He could still feel the pain of the gorgons blood, but the other curses were gone, which made Percy feel a bit better.

He turned to see Annabeth fall towards a cliff, that led who knows where.

Percy felt the adrenaline kick in he jumped up, running towards her. "Annabeth!" He screamed, running as fast as his legs would carry him.

He jumped forward reaching for her hand.

But this time he didn't catch her.

His fingers grazed her's and she fell, plummeting downwards. "I love you!" Percy heard her scream. He felt tears welling in his eyes as she disappeared from view, "I love you more." He whispered, knowing even if he yelled at the top of his lungs, she would never hear him. She would never hear him say those words ever again.

He would never again lace his fingers in her hair, or kiss the tip of her nose. Never again would she wake him in the middle of the night and sneak to the beach or the stables, they would never get to walk down the streets as Mr. and Mrs. Jackson, or Mr. and Mrs. Jackson plus an extra. Percy would never see his Annabeth again.

Percy felt Bob's hand on his shoulder, "We should go, The defeated ones are close, and you need to be healed."

As if on cue, Percy slumped backwards, falling into Bob's hands.

"Let us go."

He heaved Percy onto his shoulder and said quietly, "I am sorry, Percy friend."
