Prolouge

"Race you!" he challenged me. He, only ten years old at the time, giggled as he got to his feet, ready to run.

I, the same as as him, agreed to it eagarly as I got up from the grass and onto my own feet. "Okay!!"

Even at that age, Chris always challenged me to any kind of contest. But then again, he's always had that competitive trait inside him. I swear, that's what motivated him to always win too, because he'd end up beating me in any game in the long run.

That was one of my many fondest memories of us. That day in the park when the two of us raced each other. I rmeember when we used to have the greatest times together, too. As we got older, getting into our teens, it was the same too. But that was also part of them problem. Chris got older, and got more mature and things got harder. He stopped having fun, he stopped being happy and eventually we grew apart, stopped talking to each other and moved on.

...But there's not a day that goes by that I don't ask myself...
