The Good Ol' Days

She remembers when her daughter used to be a shy, nervous little girl who'd always cling to her mother's skirt when they were in the market, and hid behind her legs whenever someone said 'hello'.

But then, Yamanaka Ino remedied that.

She remembers when her little Sakura became more interested in boys and grooming than spending time or talking with her mother. And whenever she tried to initiate a conversation, Sakura always managed to turn the topic to boys.

Thanks to Uchiha Sasuke.

She recalls the heartbroken expression and never-ending tears on her daughter's face when they'd failed to bring that boy back. She tried to comfort her, but only received a door slam. Sakura used to seek her for solace…

Another round of applause for the lone Uchiha avenger.

She recalls the determined expressions and many bruises her baby girl received as a result of discovered passion and newfound strength.

And the award goes to: Uzamaki Naruto and Lady Tsunade.

She sees the young woman Sakura has become and can't help feeling that tug most mothers feel when they realize their children are no longer their 'babies', but independent and strong adults.

And for that, she drinks to life.
