Campfire
"Blaine, I don't think you got it up the right way."
"Are you sure? It looks about right…"
"I…"
Just as Kurt Hummel is about to critique Blaine Anderson's tent-pitching skills, one of the poles holding the tent up collapses, and the tent sinks down on one side, looking rather dejected. Blaine makes a rather pitiable sound, and Kurt gives him a sympathetic rub on the back.
"It took me half an hour to get that up," Blaine says, looking at Kurt with sad brown eyes, his bottom lip quivering.
Kurt can't help but smile. Taking his boyfriend's hand, he pulls Blaine towards the tent. "Come on. We'll fix it together."
With the two of them working on the tent together, it takes them close to forty-five minutes to pitch it. Blaine keeps getting…distracted...by Kurt, and distracting him in turn.
The sun is now low in the sky, a dazzling shade of orange behind the tall, dark trees that surrounded them. Blaine offers to build a little fire, but when Kurt finds out he has never actually been camping before and therefore never built a fire, he flatly refuses Blaine's offer, setting it up by himself.
At last they sit in front of the fire, on a picnic blanket Kurt has wisely remembered to pack (there is absolutely no way he is getting grass stains on his H&M pants), huddled together in a rather warm blanket, Blaine's head resting against Kurt's shoulder and Kurt's resting against Blaine's (ungelled) hair.
"This is nice," Blaine says softly. "Just you…me…the stars…no one to tell us no…or where to go…or say we're only dreaming…"
"It is," Kurt murmurs, mesmerised by the dancing flames. He tears his gaze away, pulling away from Blaine so he can look at him with an amused expression. "You just quoted Disney, didn't you?"
Blaine glances at Kurt with a grin. "I couldn't resist."
Kurt laughs, snuggling up against Blaine again with a contented sigh. He closes his eyes, breathing in Blaine's scent mixed with the smells of the forest.
Blaine looks at Kurt, smiling at the way the flickering fire illuminates his features, hypnotized by the play of light and shadow on his face. Kurt opens his eyes, and Blaine breathes in sharply as the light of the fire catches Kurt's blue eyes.
The soft gasp draws Kurt's attention, and he looks at Blaine curiously. "What?"
Blaine blushes a little, ashamed at having been caught. But Kurt's his boyfriend, he can stare at Kurt all day if he likes. "You're beautiful," he tells him. "You're stunningly beautiful. Did you know that?"
Kurt averts his gaze, flattered, blushing as well. "You tell me that every day, Blaine."
"Because I notice that every day."
Kurt smiles. "You're wonderful." He looks up at Blaine again. "I love you. I really do."
Blaine grins. "I know," he says, and he leans forward, brushing his hand against Kurt's cheek as he plants a kiss on his lips. "I love you too."
