Disclaimer: I own absolutely nothing.

Author's Note: This is a very different style from my usual fanfiction, but I'm no stranger to freeverse poetry. My Fictionpress account is practically loaded with it, so I know how to write it. But this is a different style (typically, I go the E. E. Cummings route, with no punctuation, capitalization, or anything). I wanted to do something different, though, and this is what came out.

It's 11:30 at night, though, so bear with me if it's terrible. Hopefully some people will end up enjoying it!

Summary: It seems like she's hyper-aware of him constantly, not able to get him out of her mind. And yet, he's oblivious. To everything. NateCaitlyn. Written as a freeverse poem.

Oblivious
by PiperPaigePhoebe01

The words aren't coming out.
My heart is beating,
my chest is aching,
and I stare at you,
just hoping
(praying)
that you'll realize,
that you'll see.

It's the last day of Camp Rock,
and you're oblivious.
Final Jam is over,
Mitchie's over in the corner
snuggling with Shane,
Jason's off with Ella, who is trying
(without much leeway)
to tell him that no,
birdhouses are not made
at a camp for singing.

And I'm alone.
And you're alone.
Isn't it funny how we're both alone?
Yet we don't yet know
the other exists?
(Or at least you don't yet know
I exist.)

And it's funny,
because I haven't even talked to you,
and yet, I'm already
100 percent in love with you.
Can't you see that?
It's like,
we're a computer.
We're two parts of the same whole,
and yet one of us doesn't know the other exists,
and the other is hyper-aware of the other.
And I'm the latter;
I'm the one who notices everything.

Have you ever had the feeling
someone was watching you?

That was me.

And it's just my luck
that you're too busy pining over Mitchie
(what's so special about her, anyway?
She's with Shane, she loves Shane,
so why pine over her?)
to pay attention to me.

Oh, well.

I've always been the one that remains unnoticed.
One more person won't make a difference.
Right?

Right.

(Or, at least, that's what I keep
telling myself.)

Author's Note: I have no idea where this came from. I'm considering doing one from Nate's perspective. Would anyone like to see that? If you do, please send me a review telling me what you thought of this one?

Thanks!
