A/N: I watched the final episode again and had the urge to write a slightly different ending for Mega so I ran this off.
Please review whatever you think of it: good, bad, indifferent whatever.
As his headset was removed Mega registered that someone was speaking to him;
"…took him on and won! You are the one true master." Mega considered replying but a pain shooting through his head silenced the thought. He heard another voice, it sounded so far away and he started to drift until he heard
"Josh!" and the realisation that he had one final chance to make peace with his brother made him fight to open his eyes.
"Slade." He croaked out "I'm sorry." The words caused him more pain and he winced.
"There's nothing to be sorry about." Slade replied. Josh couldn't voice all the reasons he was sorry and so tried to encompass it all as he said
"All those years. Wasted." Mega internally rolled his eyes as his brother claimed blame
"But it was my fault, I left you." Josh was about to open his mouth to say it was just a mistake. He wanted to reach an understanding with Slade before…well he didn't want to waste his remaining time thinking about that.
Jack spoke again before Josh had a chance to. "Look guys…" Mega winced as another pain shot through his head. "…whole bio lab with it. We've got to get out of here eh?"
Josh internally blanched as he realised his project was about to kill his brother and that although that morning he might not have cared, he did now. He briefly tried to lift his leg but as it didn't even twitch he gave into plan B.
"I was wrong, you didn't leave me but you have to now." He said briefly opening his eyes to take one last look at the brother he had hated for years over a stupid misunderstanding. He knew that his brother wouldn't want to leave but hoped that Amber, Ram and Jack would be enough to get him out.
His eyes connected with slade's and for a moment he was that young boy, curled up on the floor of a caravan begging his brother not to leave him.
"Never" Slade said the emotion thick in his voice. Josh's eyes closed once more and he relaxed his body.
There was a moment of silence and then Mega heard Amber say his brother's name and sensed his brother stand. Josh mentally held onto the image of his brother's face and he heard the door click behind the group.
A sob ran through his body and he tried to raise a hand to wipe away the tears escaping his closed eyes. His arm felt like lead and he gave up trying to hide the emotions. He whispered to the empty room "I'm sorry for what we've missed. I'm sorry." He sighed and heard a huge explosion as the lab went up in flames. A huge heat engulfed him and for the last time since Slade had left him in the caravan, Mega stopped fighting and became Josh again for only a brief second before both were finally released.
