She was always the odd one. She never fit in with any of the other girls. She tried but the more she tried the more un-liked she got. Throughout her childhood, Korra was always trying to find a place to fit in. As a child she had found out she was the next avatar, and as she grew so did her powers and unpopularity. She was hidden away from the world for years. Finally, she was out. She could be free to experience things on her own. She had enrolled in a college called, Republic University in the Republic City. Over the few days of the journey she took to get to her college she realized that she needed to be more... Kind. She grimaced at the thought. 'Me kind?' She thought. "It just won't happen..." She trails off a sshe saw the large statue of Avatar Aang on an island. The ship came to a halt and she gathered up her belongings. She had left Naga with her parents in the southern watertribe. She feared if she had brought her polarbear dog it would scare off any chance of her having friends. She stepped off the boat for the first time in days. She carried we bags as she walked onto the dock. She took a heavy breath but coughed. 'This air is so thick... And it smells...' She crinkled her nose and frowned. 'This is going to take some getting used to.' She sighed. The brunette started to make her way to the streets. She could hear... Cars? She had never seen or heard a car before. She rushed to the streets to get a view of the satomobiles. She stopped when she came into view of the cars. Her eyes widened, "so many..." The machines whizzed past her and blew her hair. Her ponytails keeping the hair in place, somewhat. The cars zoomed past her and she could taste the smoke coming from the engines. She coughed. 'Time to go to the dorm and get fixed up.' She thought as she reached in her bag and pulled out a map. She located where she was on the map and realized she was just a few blocks away! She could feel the excitement in her blood as she started to head towards the dorm. She walked past the police station with the huge Toph Beifong statue in the front. She bowed respectfully and continued to her destiny. She would reach the dorm rooms a few minutes more of walking, so she pressed forward. Before she knew it the bender was standing in front of the dorm. She sighed in relief, "that was a long walk..." She mumbled to herself. "Room 208." The powerful bender kept repeating to herself as she walked past hallways of room and girls. She sighed as she saw all the girls chatting with their friends or roommates. When the bender signed up she decided on having a roommate. She found her room and opened the door. To her surprise, her roommate wasn't there. She shrugged and threw her bags on the floor and laid in her bed. She sighed in defeat. "Long day huh?" She heard a soft yet confident voice from across the room. "Uh.. Yeah." While the brunette rubbed her lazy eyes she sat up. When she had finally opened her eyes she saw a black haired girl standing in front of her. "I'm Asami Sato. You must be Korra." She said with a smile as she took off her glove to shake the hand of the avatar. Korra blinked. The brunette stared at the woman in front of her. 'How... Beautiful. Her red plump lips... Her silky black hair... Her snow white skin...' Korra realized she was thinking about her roommate. A girl! She shook her head and Asami's voice was heard. "H-Huh?" The avatar said confused. Asami giggled, "you should really take a nap you look exhausted. We can get aquatinted later." The heiress smiled and pulled her glove back on. "Eh? Oh alright." The tan girl laid back down and started to close her eyes. 'That giggle...' Was her last thought before the young, exhausted, girl fell into a most needed slumber.
