Here is a Jay-Jay story written by IeuR, entitled "The Storm of Tarrytown" Enjoy and comment.
The planes of Tarrytown Airport had been in their big cozy hanger all day long. The weather had been terrible enough that Brenda Blue had decided to cancel all flights, to and from Tarrytown. As night came it looked like a large storm would hit and Brenda decided to move the planes somewhere safer.
"Okay everyone, I've decided that to keep you all safe were going to move you out of the Hanger and into a special storm shelter on the other side of the runway for the night. Follow me and be quick, but careful, the runways slippery."
All the planes followed Brenda Blue to the shelter. All except Old Oscar. Jay Jay the Jet Plane noticed this.
"Oscar, aren't you coming with us? Brenda Blue said that it wasn't safe in here." He asked.
"Oh, it'll be safe enough for me. Don't you worry Jay Jay, you go to the shelter" Oscar replied.
"I don't think it will Oscar, it sounds really bad outside. Like it could blow the roof off!"
Old Oscar chuckled. "You're exaggerating, Jay Jay. I'll be fine. And I... don't really want to go to shelter anyway."
Before Jay Jay could ask him why, Brenda Blue came back.
"Jay Jay, Oscar. What are you two still doing here? It's dangerous with this storm." Brenda warned.
"Oscar doesn't want to go to the Shelter, I was asking him why." Jay Jay said.
"I see. Jay Jay, go to the shelter. I'll bring Oscar, don't you worry." Jay Jay left. "Oscar why don't you want to go to the shelter? It's much safer than in here."
"Don't worry Brenda, I'm sure it's safe enough."
"Oscar, is there something you're not telling me?" Brenda asked.
"I... Well... Oh, I don't want to go to shelter. It's been years since I slept somewhere other than this copy hanger, and I, well, don't want to sleep somewhere else. The idea makes me feel nervous." Oscar admitted.
"Oscar there's nothing to be nervous about, if anything you should be nervous of staying here. All your friends will be there so you won't be alone. Who knows, it might be fun."
"Well... Okay. I would like to be with my friends, instead of alone." Oscar agreed.
"That's excellent Oscar, now come on let's go and be careful!"
And so, Old Oscar learned that doing new things is a good, and sometimes fun, thing to do.
