I was just eating prey normally as the greenleaf sun shone on my fur. I was sitting in the middle of Thunderclan camp. Brambleclaw was sitting next to me and was biting a mouse. I was eating a plump vole. Brambleclaw finished his mouse in a few bites. His stomach still growled.
"Want some?" I asked as I passed him my vole.
"No thank you." He said. "I have deputy duties to make." Brambleclaw and I were very good friends and he had been appointed deputy when the clan medicine cat Leafpool (who was my sister) had a sign from Starclan about him.
Suddenly, Firestar`s yowl rang across the camp. Firestar was my father and a clan leader. Long ago, he was a kittypet who joined Thunderclan.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highledge for a clan meeting!" he yowled.
All the clan cats began to gather around the highledge. Brambleclaw sprang onto the highledge next to Firestar.
"I have an important message to deliver too you." Firestar began.
What did he have to tell the clan? I thought. Firestar took a deep breath and continued.
"The dawn patrol has found a dead cat just in the edge of our territory next to the Shadowclan border. The cat had no clan scent so it was probably a rogue. We have found no evidence about who killed the cat."
"It was probanly Shadowclan themselves. It is unusual for a cat that walks through their border and not get slain by them." Mousefur said from the group of elders.
"It could be possible." Firestar said.
"What do you mean it could be possible!" Mousefur spat. "You must attack them straight away!"
"Mousefur, we are not sure if it was Shadowclan. Attacking them would be too risky. Maybe we should just leave it and mention it at the next gathering."
"No way!" Cloudtail argued. "We must do something about it right now!"
More cats began to argue. I agreed with them. Something had to be done about it. Suddenly, I got an idea. I could investigate about who killed the cat. I looked up and I was that Firestar was losing his temper. Brambleclaw whispered something to him.
