Prompt #106 (Item) Violin

"I never knew you knew how to play the violin." Betty looked over her shoulder where Veronica was sitting in the center of her bed with her legs crossed.

Veronica smiled. "There's a lot about me that you don't know B."

"True." Betty nodded. "But still this is a big issue. I mean has this always been here?" Her eyes turned back to the violin that was leaning against the wall. "I mean I know that I can miss things ... but I wouldn't have missed this every time I'm in your room."

Veronica leaned back on her elbows. "I actually don't let too many people know that I can play. Sadly I keep it mostly in my closet when I'm not playing." Her eyes remained on Betty's stooped body as the blonde had knelt down to gently touch the wood of her violin. "I just thought it was time for you to know is all B."

Betty knelt on one knee as she gently picked up the belovd violin. "Thank you for having such faith in me Veronica." She gently touched the strings. "I won't let you down."

"You never could B. You never could." Veronica whispered. Her heart grew warm at the tender care that Betty was holding her beloved violin.

Betty finally placed the violin back on the stand; and she stood to her feet. Turning she found the soft eyes of Veronica whom was glued to her's. "Someday I hope you trust me enough to play for me." She walked to the bed; and sank down next to the slightly shorter brunnette.

"Soon." Veronica sighed as she rested her head against Betty's side. Her arms resting across the blonde's rest. "You'll be the first one out of my family to hear me play." She sighed.

Betty's soul melted even more at those words. "I can't wait." She whispered as she placed a kiss against Veronica's temple.

"What I play for you will be for you always. No one else." Veronica husked. Closing her eyes as she brought her lips to kiss the very corner of Betty's lip. Longing to meet her lips with the blonde's once again. But; knowing that neither one of them were free for it mean what she wanted it to mean. She wouldn't destroy Betty's soul in wanting to steal another kiss.

Betty pulled away as she looked into Veronica's closed eye lids. Her right hand rose to lightly trace the other girl's cheekbone. "Perhaps if I were braver right now. If I didn't need to hide still ... then perhaps."

Veronica's eyes slid open as she met the sad one's just a few inches from her own. "No rush." She husked out. "We have all the time in the world." She gently smiled an small smile. Her fingers retraced the path it had made down the pale cheek. "All the time in the world." She repeated as she rested her forehead against Betty's. Her soft chocolate brown eyes meeting loving sea of blue green.
