"Dear passengers, please pull out your popcorn and prepare to point and laugh as Sakura Mikan's life goes down the drain."

Heartbroken Confession

Prologue

I'm being petty. I know I am. But what else can I possibly think? I'm a teenage girl-- life sucks. Yes, oh I'm a kid prodigy, rich, and pretty (I'm not being cocky-- I'm just stating the opinion of others), poor me. But despite all that, life truly does suck. I'm no Mary-Sue, no matter how much I seemed it to others.

I leaned back against the pillow the airline had provided with us and growled at the history document in my lap. Normally, I may have enjoyed history, but now was not the time.

I stared out at the window as we whizzed by, the sun coming and going behind the puffy white clouds. I wish I was a cloud. Life would be easy going. I'd just float along in the sky, underneath the warmth of the sun. Clouds don't get transferred across the world to Japan because they're "smart". Had anyone, for a single second, considered what I wanted?

"Close that window!" The woman next to me hissed. She turned over in her seat and effectively knocked her (stupid, fugly) heels against my passenger bag. Reluctantly I complied-- only because I feared for the life of my bag.

A voice rang through lightly through the left earphone I had gently placed in. "We will be arriving in Tokyo Airport shortly, please buckle your seatbelts and prepare for landing."

Dear passengers, please pull out your popcorn and prepare to point and laugh as Sakura Mikan's life goes down the drain.

I pulled the wide black cord and it connected with a faint click. I snapped aggressively at my gum as the plane began to descend in vain. The familiar numbing feeling came over my ears as they popped. When the plane landed, I nearly knocked over the obnoxious woman I had spent nearly twenty-four hours next to and hurried out of the gate. Then I saw the first thing I was grateful for in what had to have been at least two months-- a man with luggage and a sign with my name on it.

It was a prologue-- It's supposed to be short! :)

So, this was an edit. I made some pretty major changes and cut out a lot of scenes. Though, I hope readers will find this a lot more bearable than the original. :)
