Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter, it belongs to the amazing author J.K
Rowling, if I owned HP I wouldn't be writing fanfic's now would I!
A/N Petunia's thoughts on Lily, her only sister.
She had everything.
Sure, our parents loved us both that weren't it.
I think it started that day, on Lily's 11th birthday. When she got that blasted letter, damned owl. Of course I was jealous to begin with, which 11- year-old wouldn't? But I got over it, with my parent's help; they made me feel special, special as Lily.
But what happened on Lily's 16th birthday was something I never could forgive, I started to hating her.
I remember the date even. 24 July 1979 (A/N dunno if this is right). Lily had just got home from Hogwarts. All her friends came over for her birthday party, including James. My James or at least that was what I thought. I had fallen for him 3 years prior, when Lily had him over for a week in the summer holiday. But this time she didn't introduce him as one of her best friends, but as James Potter, her steady and lovely boyfriend. You could nearly hear my heart smash into tiny glass bits and fall onto the carpet, after that my heart would never really beat again.
I hated her for it, of course she had never known of my feelings towards him, but that didn't help at all. I hated her. Her curly red hair, her green eyes, her ugly green toad eyes, I hated her.
I never spoke to her again after that, she left for her last year at Hogwarts and I went of and married Vernon Dursley.I didn't love him like I loved James, but what could I do?
The last thing I heard from Lily was a wedding invitation, from her and her darling James.
I never went. Goodbye darling sister I will hate you forever more, for the one thing I truly ever wanted was yours, James's heart.
