When does one know…?
Are you the chosen one?
Am I the chosen one?
Telltale questions hover down,
Floating past the moon and sky--
Darting between flickering stars.
My heart beats once.
Darkness can be overbearing,
But so can the light,
The light that shines over this.
Lightning may be flickering
While darkness is onward full.
But it brings upon us,
Something that may be done.
My heart beats twice.
Falling down this crevice,
Wishing I was falling up a precipice.
Climaxing moments,
Flash before my eyes.
Wind swiftly blows up into my hair,
A hand holds and keeps me parallel.
I turn to find the arm
But instead I find a shadow.
My heart beats thrice.
The shadow shifts legibly,
Glimmering with suspiciousness.
If I'm to leave I wouldn't mind--
This hand is what keeps me grounded.
The shadow lets go--
Dark beads following,
After it a brisk ray passes by.
The hand is still in my grip--
Holding me tight.
Our hearts beat once.
I look again and find you.
The other one,
The chosen one,
The one who's always been there?
You smile a broad smile,
I merely look confused.
You quirk an eyebrow in response,
I barely look at you.
Our hearts beat twice.
Suddenly you move--
And you're on top of me.
We've both stopped falling,
Halt in mid-air.
With one hand you caress,
Causing me to quake.
The other one keeps holding on,
Firm in it's wake.
Our hearts beat thrice.
Your lips take the plunge,
Where mine's stay afloat.
A lick is all it takes,
To feel like a king on his throne.
I may be the jester,
You may be the queen.
But the kiss makes it the better,
Joining our two kingdoms as one.
Our hearts stop…
Then beat again.
Holding on,
From lips to hands--
Your crown my crown,
Shimmer gold with weight.
You on top as my cloak,
Me underneath as your throne.
Our lips a heartbeat that can't be undone.
Our hands keep together,
In a nirvana of kingdoms to…
