The Songs We Know (Working title only)
Chapter One: Sound Life
Vash hummed quietly as he walked alongside the Thomas. Knives glanced over at his twin and sighed a little. The song was starting to get on Knives' nerves, mainly because Vash wasn't singing it.
"Why don't you just sing the song instead of humming it?"
"Because.Dash and Katana are asleep.and they're so cute when they sleep that I didn't want to wake them." Vash glanced to the two sleeping girls on the Thomas and smiled a little.
It had only been a year since the two cousins were born, and already, they were big enough to arouse concerns from the townsfolk. Vash and Knives had had to pack up quickly, leaving behind very little, other than a few pieces of paper.
{@ Vash looked up at Dash, who was busy coloring and humming a made- up song. Katana was busy reading one of the many books in the house, and paid her twin cousin no mind.
Suddenly, the door flew open, and Knives quickly burst into the room, slamming and locking the door behind him. Dash and Katana both looked up at him, as did Vash.
"Grab all that you can and pack it quickly. We're leaving." That was all Knives said before he went to his room and could be heard shoving clothing into a bag. @}
Vash sighed a little and brushed Dash's bangs away from her face.
"So... On the first night, a pebble falls to the earth from somewhere. So... On the second night, the pebble's children hold hands and sketch a waltz. Sound life." Vash looked over at Knives, who was singing quietly.
"So... On the third night, the children of the waltz cause ripples on the face of the world. So... On the fourth night, the children of the wave spray the shore. Sound life." Vash sang, also quietly. Knives smiled a little bit at his twin brother and soon they were both singing softly.
"So... On the fifth night, those shards strike the face of the earth over and over. So... On the sixth night, those signals bring travelers together. Sound life." Neither one of the twin plants heard the sound of approaching Thomases.
"So... On the seventh night, a weightless ship races to the sky. So... On the eighth morning, a song from somewhere reaches my ears. Sound life." Suddenly, the twins felt the ends of guns pressed to the backs of their heads.
"Hold it right there. Either one of you moves, the other one dies." The bounty hunters muttered. Dash opened her eyes and gently nudged Katana, who woke up immediately.
One of the bounty hunters quickly covered both Dash's and Katana's mouths and quickly pulled them off of the Thomas. The bounty hunter then rode off with the twin cousins into the distance.
*grins* Cliffhanger! Are the little girls gonna be alright, or will they be the ones to die? Find out next chapter! Oh, and flamers will be roasted.if not by me, then by their consciousnesses!
Rated R for angst, death, and language.
