Once upon a time,

We were young,

when life was ours for the taking,

when I had time to dream silly girl dreams about you,

I dreamed I was a princess and you were my knight in shining armor,

I told myself that this was true love,

I tried to tell you to, but you said you didn't have time for love,

Once upon a time,

We were older, my love for you increased daily,

the slightest smirk or remark to me made me blush for hours,

I told myself that this was love, that you truly did love me,

though deep in my heart I knew that was impossible,

then we had that horrible exam, the turning point in my dreams,

there we met the darkness, he cursed you and caused you so much pain,

you said you were fine but I didn't believe you,

Once upon a time,

My worst nightmare came true,

you left me, the darkness took you away from me, made you seek power, you wouldn't let me come with you, you said I was annoying, that you were never in love with me and you never will be,

the words hurt but I knew they were true, you left me knocked out cold on a park bench, after you left I was depressed, I was tired of everything and everybody, shortly after you left my parents were killed, that just added to the pain,everyone tried to cheer me up but I just couldn't get over the fact that you were gone,

Once upon a time,

the war came the dreadful war,

then I knew, what I had always known but not wanted to face,

you were gone, I was weak, and there was a war going on,

so I resolved to become strong, and did I ever,

I practiced hours on end perfecting my new techniques until I was stronger then anyone in the village, then I went to war,

after years at war I saw you, just a glimpse of your face, but I would recognize you anywhere,I fought harder, I didn't know if I was with or against you but I told myself that is you were the enemy I would have to kill you, I shot down their commander but got shot in return, I fe3ll backward, my pink hair spilling out of my hat, as I lied I thought about you, about the past and all we had been through together, reliving every memory I could think of, I saw you running by and I smiled, the first real smile perhaps since before you left, suddenly you stopped, you looked at me and then fell to your knees I thought for a moment you had been shot, but you came over to me and knelt down,

''Sakura?''

you asked,

''Sasuke-Kun''

Sasuke smiled really smiled for a second,

I knew I was fading fast so I reached up and caressed his cheek with my cold fingertips for a second before I whispered faintly,

''Once upon a time,

Princess's Always lived happily ever after,''

but just before I closed my eyes for the last time I heard you say softly,

''But then again you were never a princess, you were my queen''

I smiled and died peacefully, My fairy tale had a happy ending after all.
