"Can we talk for a second?" Korra could tell from the tone in his voice that he meant alone. She glanced over at Asami. That meant leaving her with the Prince, at least Mako's family might be able to deflect the obnoxious waves Wu seemed to produce at all times.

Korra shrugged. "Sure thing." She said and passed on a parting wave to the group conglomerating in the entryway.

She followed Mako as he took her outside around the grounds. He walked with a rigid posture and wasn't really looking at her, but didn't seem to be looking where he was going much either. Korra was starting to feel uneasy. What did he want to talk about that he felt he had to bring her so out of the way for?

"You didn't answer my question." He finally said, stopping near one of the home's walls.

"Huh?"

"Earlier," Mako explained. He spoke a little louder when he added, "what's going on with you and Asami?"

"Mako I already said I didn't mean to not write you!" She took a breath and let the exasperation fade from her voice. "I'm really sorry things just have been…complicated."

Mako shook his head. "That's not what I'm asking," he shifted his gaze around, words stuck on his tongue but not yet rolling out." Look Korra, I dated the both of you I can tell when something's up. You like each other don't you."

The blood rushed to her cheeks faster than she could stutter any words out. "uh, I- …Like? Mako, are you twelve?"

Mako folded his arms and frowned. "Well are you going to answer or not?"

Korra shifted away from him and turned to the side. She didn't know how to respond. It wasn't like she had thought about it. She pulled at the top of her sleeves. It wasn't like she hadn't thought about it. "I…" Korra started, " I don't know."

"You don't know." Mako repeated dully.

"Like you were a great ball of confusion before we started dating!" Korra snapped.

"Sooo…" Mako dragged out the word, a smirk crawling up the side of his face, "You want to date Asami."

"What? Mako, are you listening?" Korra was facing him again, her insecurities fading in her frustration. "I haven't thought about that, there was a lot going on with me! Now that I'm back I just…" She faltered, "I'm just noticing some things and realizing…" Korra shook her head. "it's only been a day, not even! I just…" she trailed off, "want to be around her…"

"So you can date her."

"Yes!" Korra shouted. She caught herself, "No! Maybe. I don't-" By now she was as red as his old scarf. Frustrated, she threw her arms out. "Well have you seen her!" Her heart was beating fast, she couldn't believe what she was saying.

Mako looked incredibly please with himself. "Good to know my interrogation skills are still solid."

Korra fell silent. For a moment Mako thought she was mad. Instead of yelling at him, she looked up at him and asked softly, "So you don't think it's weird?"

"Beyond the fact that I've dated both of you, no." Mako said, shrugging.

Korra suddenly felt a lot more at ease. He said those words as if he didn't have a care in the world, but they meant a lot to her. "So," she shifted her feet in the grass, "you think she likes me? I mean, in a romantic sense?"

Mako smiled. "There are three things Asami talked about while you were gone. Work, Probending, and you." Korra ducked her head again. Mako threw an arm around her shoulder. "Come on, let's get you back lover-girl."

A/N: first korrasami story! Tbh didn't know what to call it or how to end it. I'm still not really used to writing these characters.
