Scene at the diner when Morag pushes Ash to say the truth to Martha
"Ok, now that we have privacy. What's all this about?" Martha wondered, looking back at Morag with disgust.
"Uh, your auntie..." Ash started to say nervously.
Martha rolled her eyes and sighed, "My auntie up to her old tricks again. Interferring in other peoples lives."
Ash shook his head, "No actually, this is different and important."
"Ok." Martha replied, regretting what was about to be said. She stopped and faced Ash.
Ash grabbed his ring from his pocket and thrust it forwards Martha's face.
Martha covered her hands over her face in shock, "Oh my god, Ash."
Next Martha took the ring in her hands and twirled it around her finger, "Not exactly what I had in mind but.."
Ash stood helplessly, disbelieved that Martha would think he would propose to her.
After a few moments, Martha took the ring and handed it back to Ash. She then jumped up and down and presented Ash with a gigantic hug, "Your the best Ash. Of course I'd marry you!"
Who said I'd propose to you, Ash thought in his mind trying not to roll his eyes.
Ash opened and closed his mouth. If he would've had the chance, he may of let the plans go ahead but he knew Morag would be observing him like an eagel from outside the diner.
Morag frowned and began to stomp, when she saw Martha jump with glee.
"How dare he keep my nieces hopes up." Morag muttered angrily under her breath.
"You" Morag pointed, rushing towards Ash.
Ash grabbed Martha by the arm harshy and took off like a frightened little dog.
"What's going on?" Martha wondered, feeling biwildered.
Ash looked nervously towards Morag, noticing the intense glare on her face.
"You tell her right now! Or I'll tell her." Morag warned.
Ash stopped and took a deep breath. Without words, he placed the ring he shown to Martha on his own ring finger.
Martha shook her head. She knew with feeling, that Ash didn't just place the ring there.
"You are not.."Martha began to say. She couldn't bare to say the word 'Married.'
"Yes I am...Married." Ash spat out.
Martha gave Ash a look of pure disgust, "And I trusted you"
Ash nodded helplessly. Yes you were the fool, he thought.
Martha felt her anger get the best of her. Instantly she grabbed Ash's hand, took the ring and threw it hushly towards the ocean.
"You deserve nobody. Rot in hell, Ash." Martha remarked, gritting her teeth. She watched in satisfaction as the ring landed far into the water.
Ash gave a look of panick and immediately began to run away as Morag reached Martha.
"That's right, run you heartless, gutless fool!" Martha encouraged, waving Ash away.
" I don't want to ever see, or hear from you again." Martha added loudly, seeing Ash head towards the sunset.Without control, tears started to drown down her face.
Morag took a deep breath in relief. She was glad Ash had finally left.
" I'm sorry Morag." Martha apologized turning towards her, "If only I listened."
Morag nodded and handed Martha some tissues from her pocket.
"Thanks." Martha snuffled.
"Come here." Morag invited, opening her arms for a hug.
Martha silently nodded and embraced her auntie. She was glad that she had support in summerbay.
