Can't swing a sword at it
Link walked into the palace garden, the vibrant flowers swayed in the warm summer air, the lush green grass being crushed under the hero's boots. It had been a year since the hero had defeated Gannon for the second time and he was heading into the palace to see the princess, the one he saved twice, the one his heart belonged to. He quickly made his way up the stone stairs and down the long hallway; guards would look sad as he walked past them and waved, smiling. Link noticed this and was slightly confused, guards normally say hello but they didn't if something was wrong, link picked up his pace. Had something happened to the princess? Had she been kidnapped again? He quickly made his way to the princess' bed chamber and opened to door. As he stepped inside his heart stopped, all seemed normal, the windows were closed and the door to the balcony was locked up tight, nothing seemed out of place until Link's eyes lay upon a body lying in the bed. There lay his princess; she slowly turned her head "Hello Hero. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner" she said, golden locks falling over her eyes. Link walked over to her and knelt next to her bed, his blue eyes looking into the princess'. Link put his hand onto Zelda's, his blue eyes looking over her features, her normally rosy cheeks were as pale as a ghost and her lively blue eyes were dull and lifeless and then he noticed it…she wasn't breathing anymore. The hero's eyes widened "Princess? Princess? Zelda!? Zelda answer me! Zelda!" he called, tears beginning to run down his cheeks "Zelda…Please answer me, please tell me your still there" he raised her hand to his face, letting his tears be caught on her fingers and run down her arm "Please come back"
It's pretty hard to save her when you can't swing a sword at what's harming her…
