First off, a little background information:
In Ocarina of Time, Ruto and Link basically become engaged when Ruto gives the "engagement ring" of the Zora people, the Zora Sapphire, to Link. Unfortunately/Fortunately for Link, he is completely naïve about what he just accepted… There the story begins…
Chapter I (Set in Ocarina of Time)
[As Link goes off…]
Ruto sighed, watching with an adoring gaze as her future husband sprinted off heroically into the distance. She smiled, knowing that she had just won the heart of the Hyrulean Hero of Legend… As she slowly walked back to her house, she contemplated what had just happened; thinking, "Oh, there goes Link again, off to save the world." She felt a small tear fall as she rested in her bed…
[Years passed…]
Chapter II (Set in Hyrule Warriors)
{Water Temple}
[As Link frees Ruto, Cia suddenly appears, telling Ruto to back off… Ruto refuses and almost dies as Link barely defeats Cia… As Ruto lays in Link's arms, a sudden protective feeling rushes over him; he grabbed a potion out of his pocket and saves her life… At this point, Link and Ruto are alone; she grabs him and kisses him intensely]
Link and Ruto easily enjoyed the kiss… Ruto finally breaks the kiss and breathes happily. "I never forgot the vows we made to each other seven years ago!" Link, confused at first, then slowly realizes, with help from Ruto, that he had indeed promised to marry her. Ruto, smiling, shows off her new Zora Sapphire, made for her by her father's blacksmith as an 18th birthday present. "Few get the Zora Sapphire… even fewer know me like you do, Link…"
Chapter III (2-5 weeks after Link defeats Ganondorf)
{The Land of the Zora}
[Sorry if the chapters are a bit short, but I honestly am just scrambling for ideas right now]
Link and Ruto sat in their partially constructed house. As Link bent over to pick up a stone block, Ruto caressed and massaged him. Link stopped and said to Ruto, "You love me so much, why don't we have kids…" He stopped as she kissed him and said, "Tonight…"
Chapter IV
[2 days after Chapter III]
Ruto, jumping for joy… that was the first thing Link saw that morning… He asked her, "What are you so excited about?"
"Link, I'm pregnant!"
Chapter IV Part II
[4 months after Chapter IV Part I]
"Jeez, Ruto." "What?" "That is one helluva baby bump." "Well, what did you expect? A shrimp?"
Chapter V
[5 months later]
Link and Ruto's lovely daughter, full legal name Rosaline Elizabeth-Archer Lane, was born. After Rosaline was cleaned up, however, Cia returned and, determined to get Link once and for all time, tried to kidnap Rosaline. However, she was defeated and turned into watery stone by a spell of Ruto's.
[Link and Ruto had 3 more children, another daughter named Ruto Jr., and two fraternal twin boys, Link Jr. and Darunia, in the span of 5 years. In the end, Ruto became Queen of the Zora and actually achieved functional immortality by drinking a concoction of hers that made her basically 25 years old for the rest of time. Link also achieved immortality of a different kind, but lived with Ruto for the rest of time.]
