A/N – I was bored, so I decided to write this piece-of-crap one-shot. xD Well, enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Hige and Blue, nor do I own the title of this short story. All materials go to BONES and Whitesnake. Hope you have fun.

It was a nice, pretty evening. The sun shone in Hige's face as he stared off into the distance, smiling to himself. What a pretty afternoon, he thought. Too bad Blue isn't around...

"Hey, Hige." Hige turned around to see his most favorite wolf/dog standing in front of him on the bridge. "Hey, beautiful." Hige approached her and wrapped his arms around her shoulders. "Hey-" Blue was restless- "What do you think you're doing?"

"Kiss me." It was an order, not a request. Hige wanted a kiss...he could feel it in his very bone. "I want you, Blue." Blue took a deep breath. "I never confessed this to you," she said quietly, "but I love you, Hige."
"You're my everything, Blue," Hige told her. "You're the one that's gotten me through all this shit in the first place. You...you're my best friend, but I want us to be something more." He took a deep breath. "Will you be my mate?"

"No," Blue shook her head. His heart sunk. "Wha-at?" he choked. Blue smiled. "I'm just kidding," she cried. "Yes!" With that, she tackled him in a hug. Hige, taken aback at first, stumbled, then kissed her on the lips.

Blue squirmed. But soon enough, she felt herself enjoying it. "Hige," she croaked, rubbing his chest. His lips were still on hers. She kissed him back; hard. God, but it felt good! She never knew she could feel this good before in her entire life. "Oh god," Hige breathed as she leaned into him, feeling up his jacket. "I love you," she whispered, panting. "I love you, too, Blue." At last, they pulled away and stared into each others' eyes.

Oddly enough, Blue felt like that one, sweet kiss wasn't good enough for her. She wanted more, but...

"Shame, shame, we know your name," someone called, a taunting tone to his voice. Hige and Blue looked up to see Tsume, Toboe, and Kiba heading their way across the bridge. Blue fumed. "How the hell did you see this?"
"With our eyes." Tsume didn't miss a beat. "We're not blind, you know," he reminded her.

Hige scowled at him. "Hahaha, very funny," he grumbled. He hated to admit it, but he was slightly embarrassed. "Hige and Blue," Toboe sang, "sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G-"
"Yeah, that's very mature, Toboe," Hige scoffed, rolling his eyes. Blue looked up at him and smiled, her eyes glimmering with humor. Oh, poor, poor, Hige.

"Enough, you two," Kiba scolded, always the one to quiet things down. "If they're in love, so be it. Don't best friends always fall in love?"

"I guess you could say that," Toboe admitted nonchalantly, nodding jerkily. "Come on, Toboe; Tsume." Kiba turned to go. "We'll catch up with the love-birds later." Hige flipped the bird at Kiba's back as he walked away, and Blue giggled.

"Now, where were we?" Hige asked, his voice soft. "Right about...here." Blue shoved her hand up his shirt, and he kissed her again, the two feeling very passionate.

"This time, let's take it slow 'an easy," Blue whispered.

Love could never be this good.
