A boy named Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town was walking in Cerulean City, his heart racing like a Ferrari.
He had his best suit on with a bouquet of flowers in his hands, bought from the finest flower shop in Celadon City. Normally, his hair was poking out in many directions, but now his hair was very neatly combed. The scent of deodorant could be smelled from a mile.
This was the day.
The reason why Ash Ketchum is in Cerulean City, looking like a gentlemen, is his crush Misty. They had travelled with each other for years, in Kanto and Johto. Ash K. had other beautiful girls travelling with him at other times, but Misty was special for him.
When Ash needed her, Misty was there. When Misty needed Ash, he was there too. It was when he was about 12 when he started getting feelings for the red-headed girl. He put those feelings aside, because a Pokémon Master has to focus on living up to his name. Now, the love-struck boy was 19 years old and couldn't care less about what a Pokémon Master does and does not.
While nearing the house of Misty, Ash's heart started beating faster. His heart was about to explode when he strolled into the street where Misty's house was located.
The to-be Pokémon Master slipped in an alley and got a pack of gum out. The pack of gum fell because of Ash's trembling arms. Feeling stupid, he picked it up the pack of gum and took one out. After chewing on it for about 30 seconds, he spit it out.
Ash was finding the courage to get out of the alley and ring Misty's doorbell. He could barely stand on his feet.
Finally, Ash's head popped out of the alley, looking if anyone was nearby but popped back in when he heard the sound of a car stopping and the slam of a car door.
Carefully, he looked back in the street. A man, about his age, was walking towards Misty's house.
It was Rudy, gym leader of Trovita Island. He remembers that Rudy had liked Misty a lot when they were on Trovita Island…
Rudy rang the doorbell and Misty stood in the door opening. Ash could hear the voices and they sounded enthusiastic.
They moved toward Rudy's car and Rudy held the door open for Misty.
''Thank you, Rudy! You're such a gentlemen!'' Misty said in ecstasy and then, much to Ash's disgust, they passionately kissed.
Even Ash, with his denseness, understood what just happened and he could hear the sound of the car's engines dying down.
His legs started to feel wobbly and then sank to his knees. The heartbroken boy was still processing the latest events. In 5 minutes, his fantasies of going to the cinema with Misty, going to a fancy restaurant with her, having a family with Misty…. They had all been shattered, like glass.
After 10 minutes, he walked away from the alley, his suit stained with spots of mud.
Ash Ketchum left the bouquet, Celadon's finest, in the alley.
