Another Eclare One-Shot. What can I say, I love them.

Disclaimer: I don't own Degrassi, but a girl can dream.

BLUE EYES

NYU was kicking his butt. The work was tougher than he thought it would be. No wonder the school was so hard to get into. At times, he could barely manage. The stress would surely give him nightmares. But then, he would Skype her. Every night, he and his muse would chat until the late hours. And when he went to bed it wasn't her voice, nor her smile that drove the bad dreams away. It was those blue eyes of hers.

The flight back to Canada was freaking awful. The service was terrible. The seat he sat in hurt his back. There was an odd aroma in the air, and he really wished the kid behind him would stop kicking his seat. Just when he's about to lose his cool, it's over. He's off the plane, and the first thing he sees are none other than his favorite pair of blue orbs. All the negative energy that ran throughout his body during the flight vanished as his gaze held hers.

He forgot to make reservations for their date. No fancy Italian food for them. Plan B: a smooth drive through town in Morty Jr. Problem: Morty Jr's empty, and a gas station is nowhere in sight. He's frustrated. Date Night's gone to crap. She's got an idea, though. They go for ice cream and walk through the park. Morty Jr's scheduled to be towed home in the morning. That night, despite the darkness, her blue eyes shined bright.

Nothing had gone as planned. She had found them while they were preparing, and they could stall no longer. He just manned up and got to it. On one knee, he pulls out a small black, velvet case, containing a ring inside. He attempts to propose smoothly, but instead stutters like a moron. He wouldn't be surprised if she laughed in his face. But in her blue eyes, he sees not only amusement, but brimming tears of joy. Speechless, she nods. The ring is placed on her finger, and she says she's never been happier. She then noticed that the diamond is an aquamarine and is the exact color of her blue eyes.

He's late. Like, really late. Adam, who was the best man, had come to get him and found him still sleeping. When he woke up, he was told that the wedding was about to start in five minutes. Getting there now, he was an hour and a half late. As he feared, the church was completely empty. Everyone was gone, all except those angry blue eyes. She doesn't let him explain. Her tear stained explains it all. But she doesn't walk away. She doesn't slap him or yell and curse at him. She grabs his hand and yanks him back to the car, shoving him inside. Her heel hits the pedal and their off to City Hall. He holds the expression of guilt and silently pleads for her understanding when their gazes meet each other during a red light. He's relieved when getting a glimpse of forgiveness in her blue eyes.

The past nine months have been hell. Thank goodness they're over. Now came the worse part: labor. She was squeezing his hand so hard; he'd thought he heard a few bones crack. Fiona, Jake, Alli, and Adam were outside the room. Darcy had traveled all the way from her permanent home in Africa to support her sister. He didn't know how she could stand the pain in her hand more than he could. Surely his wife was adding the same amount of pressure. Screams had erupted. Doctor's and Darcy comforted her and encouraged her to keep pushing. Soon enough, he heard crying, and the death grip released his hand. It was throbbing like crazy, but he barely noticed. He was too lost looking at his baby girl, wrapped up in a pink blanket. She was beautiful. Elizabeth Clara Goldsworthy was her name. And what captured Eli the most, was that she had mesmerizing crystal blue eyes. Just like Clare.

I hope this was enjoyable. R and R!
