They met in the Riverlands, two boys who sought to travel and happened upon one another by chance. A boy from the west who laughed, partied, and made ladies swoon and a boy from the Northlands with a standoffish, somber air, who attracted by his looks and sense of mystery.

Odd Della Robbia, whose words are Arrow Shoots True.

Ulrich Stern, whose words are Everything but the Rain.

Despite the odds, they laughed and smiled and become friends and everything seemed right as rain. In just a short time they would become the best of friends and know what it meant to have a brother, even as their guards grumbled and shot distrustful looks at each other. Then Jon Arryn died, King Robert road North, and the Starks road South, and they called were back home.

Even as they learned under to manage their house, for future, they wrote ravens to each other and planned to meet each other once again. However, the unthinkable would happen and King Robert Baratheon would die, Lord Eddard Stark imprisoned, and then Tyrion Lannister captured and imprisoned.

Ulrich would march with the Stark forces to free Lord Eddard and later swear allegiance to Robb Stark, King of the North. Odd would further train himself at the Oxcross and at fate would have it the boys would once more, in what become known as the Battle of Oxcross.

Eyes locked; pierced with emotion of grief, rage, betrayal, deeper sorrow, and agonizing pain. There are no words exchanged as at an unspoken signal the clash between best friends begins. Odd dodged the sword strike, while Ulrich barely reacts to the arrow that splits his check, but he overexerts himself and the wind caused him to lose balance and the second blade pierces flesh.

Odd only has a moment of pain and sorrow before the young boy sworn to House Lannister is slain by a grieving honor bound Stark loyalist. The chaos of the battle prevents any from noticing his tears.

Author's Note: This just came to me and I figured why not share.
For anyone curious Odd's and Ulrich's House words were inspired by Bleach.
