The Past, Mossflower Woods

-----

"RUUUNN!"

Otters, Beavers, Rabbits, and many others lept out of the way of more flaming arrows. It was dawn and manybeast were running from the Dark King, Zin's army. They had assulted Mossflower to take over. The army was huge compared to all the other beasts, and animals in Mossflower.

A fox ran through the brush trying to make it ahead of the others, as not to be shot. Too late. The fox was hit in the back and fell. Barely breathing he tried to scramble away while on the ground. An arrow barely missed the fox. Seeing the arrow stained with blood he had enough time to sense the next shot.

Painfully the fox rolled to one side. He was shot badly near his chest. Another arrow was headed for his head and he had not enough strength to sense it. A shield that seemed to come out of nowhere struck the arrow, making it fall to the earth.

"Come on mate shape up, eh wot!" A rabbit dressed in armor up to his neck deflected another arrow. "Why are you clasping your chest? It wasnt a burning arrow, good thing wot!"

The rabbit introduced himself as Grimsong the warrior. The fox had enough strength to chuckle, for he saw the rabbit was buried in armor.

"So come on then! shapen up and come back to the dam, wot!" Grimsong narrowly evaded another arrow, "looks like they're marching too close! Comon!"

Grimsong grabbed the fox and dragged him, dragged him really really badly. Badly meaning the fox got dragged into thorns, rocks, and sharp twigs. Finnaly they reached a lake where a dam was looking peacefully unharmed by arrows.

Soon they were inside the great pile of twigs. It may have been a pile of sticks but it looked like a palace. There were beavers, rabbits, moles, and other animals everywhere. Food was stacked up high on a table and baby rabbits 'an moles were gourging theirselfs out in front of everyone.

"Keep off 'th 'ood if you 'ont want a bath!" A mother mole exclaimed to the little ones.

She walked over to Grimsong and looked him over. She smirked and finnaly noticed the fox almost passed out from the intense head of the lanterns inside the dam.

"Grimsong! You 'ought back 'nother hurt beast 'eh? Put 'im in the 'firminary," she turned to leave but turned back. "Oh and get rid of the suit."

Grimsong glared at her and straightened up. Grasping the fox he heaved him into the infirminary. Inside there were moles, rabbits, and almost every other kind of animal sick and slain. Grimsong gently heaved the fox onto an open bed and left him.
