Important To Me

Lloyd tripped over his feet and fell down, getting covered in dirt.
"That's what you get for releasing the serpentine, you FREAK!" A boy laughed and kicked Lloyd.
"I heard his mom left him." A girl scoffed.

"Of course." Her friend giggled. "Why would she want him?"
"Why would his dad want him?" Another boy laughed and kicked dirt in lloyds face. "He's a complete failure to him."

All Lloyd could do was avoid eye contact and let thier horrible words sink in. Trying to keep from crying. He couldn't help but feel like they were right. He WAS a failure. He really DID'NT deserve his brothers. He should just run away. They'd be better off without him. Then he got an idea. In his opinion, it was the best one he'd had all day.

"Green machine! Dinners ready!" Kai called upstairs. Usually, Lloyd would come running, but not today. "Lloyd?" He called. After there was no response, Kai turned around to see Lloyd was not there. "Lloyd? Where are you? If this is a prank, it's not the least bit funny!" Kai said, then saw a note. He picked it up, read it, and then ran out of the apartment, hoping he wasn't too late.
The note read:

Dear guys,
I can't stay here. Everyone is right, I'm better off dead. They call me a screwup. You're better off with out me, so I'm leaving. This is better for all of us, so don't try to get me to come home.

Lloyd sat on a bench at the train station. He missed his brothers so much already, but this was for the best. They could find somebody else to be the green ninja, right?

"LLOYD! THERE YOU ARE!" Lloyd turned his head. It was Kai. "WHATS WITH YOU?!"

Lloyd looked down. "Nothing..." He bit his lip and tried to keep from crying.
"Lloyd, I know something's up." Kai whispered.

Lloyd then proceeded to break down in tears. "Some...some kids were telling me...that I didn't belong...that I was a freak...AND THEYRE RIGHT!" Lloyd sobbed.

Kai sat down beside him and hugged him. "No, they're not. Lloyd. What have these kids been saying?"

"That I'm a monster. How my parents though I was too much if a freak to keep around." Lloyd whispered between sobs.

"Lloyd, that's not true. Your dad loves you. We all love you, kiddo. You're loved. I promise you."

"No, you don't! How could you after everything I did?!" Lloyd cried and began sobbing into his hands.

"Lloyd, you're just a kid. You went down the wrong path, but you became good. We forgive you. I forgave you, and we'll protect and care about you no matter what." Kai told him, soothingly rubbing his back.
Lloyd sniffled and dried his eyes. "Really?"

"Really really." Kai said.

"Kai?" Lloyd asked. "I wanna go home."
