A/N: Random fic my brother asked me to do when we were playing "GO". It's a stupid game and I ended up spiting hot chocolate on the board XD Hope you enjoy! P.s. I don't own Death Note; if I did L would be alive :'(
Light Yagami, a successful Japanese college student who is secretly the infamous death god Kira, paused as he was walking through the halls when he heard a clicking noise coming from an adjacent classroom. Due to his curious nature, he opened the door to find the source. When the door swung inward, he saw that it was none other than the famous detective L playing himself in a game of GO.
"Hey L," Light asked, "Why are you playing all by yourself?"
"Oh hello Yagami-kun," L greeted, "I am stimulating my thought process by playing myself in this game of strategy and quick decision making. It is much like how I am working on the Kira case, only I am playing as myself and on behalf of my true opponent."
"And who would that be?" Light inquired as he pulled up a seat across from L.
"Well," L said with a small smile, "Why doesn't Yagami-kun play a round with me? If you win, I'll tell you. If I win though, Yagami-kun admits he is Kira."
"Deal," Light answered with a smirk, taking the bag of black stones from L, "I'll go first then."
"Your eagerness to start our little game raises your chances of being Kira by 2 percent." L commented while peering over his knees and placing his first piece on the board, quite far away from Light's.
"Ya, ya, whatever," Light replied rolling his eyes and putting another piece down.
They continued in silence for the next two hours. L was thinking up ways to prove Light was Kira, while Light tried to combat his attempts. Light tried to win while not being too aggressive in his strategy to lower L's suspicions, and L wasn't really using any form of strategy whatsoever. At the end, Light sat back smiling after he placed the winning stone on the board.
"Looks like Light-kun won," L submitted.
"Yup," Light said smugly, "So who is it?"
With a mischievous glint in his eye, L replied "I think Yagami-kun should look closer at the board."
Glancing down, Light did a double-take as he saw that all of L's pieces spelled out his name while L proceeded to raise his chances of being Kira by another two percent.
