Well, another year has passed in the Dursley Home,

Vernon had been promoted to Senior Assistant to Mr. Grunnings at the drill firm this year. He has also been a part of the Blue Bisons' Club's charity funds. This year, Vernon decided to support a charity that brings books to urban secondary schools and libraries. These books are deemed "useful to produce practical citizens", including The Art of Tying the Perfect Tie, Basics of Twine, and of course the popular Ukuleles and Uselessness: Why We Need to Eradicate Them. This year, Vernon participated in an interview that discusses the importance of imagination, which of course is completely ridiculous and unrealistic.

Petunia is doing well in her Gardening Club, having perfected the basic fern plant. Her Plain Custard Torte took first place in the Community Bake-Off (luckily for us one of the judges had been to dinner with us at the lodge!) It beat out an odd Salted Caramel and Chocolate cupcake display. It tasted good, but it was too radical for the sophisticated palates of the judges. Currently, Petunia is heading a campaign that will dictate how school girls will wear their hair: primary school girls must have plaits with ribbons the color of the school's badge. Secondary school girls must wear their hair tied back with the same rule regarding ribbons. Bobs must be grown out and curls must be ironed out.

Dudley and his wife Julie are doing as well as they can, given the fact that they chose to welcome another baby into the world. Robert Vernon Dursley is a healthy boy and Lorne is very happy to have a playmate. Dudley is working at a law firm not far from Little Whinging called Brighton, where he is specializing in cases regarding child abuse, domestic violence, and divorce laws. Vernon and Petunia can proudly say that Dudley has won every case so far, earning an award for that honor. Of course, Vernon loves to rub in the fact that his son is a winner. Julie stays at home with the boys and likes to paint. She had a show this year, although Vernon and Petunia were out of town this year when it was displayed.

Harry is currently in Nova Scotia, Canada with the Irish girl he married. They are potato farmers and also create pottery for the natives. They have a lot of children, apparently having twins the last Vernon and Petunia heard from them. Either way, it sounds like a plain and boring life but Harry has always been independent and free-thinking, so Vernon and Petunia let him go while Dudley succeeds in his life.

We would like to note that we would love fruitcakes and sugared fruits this year for baskets. From Privet Drive, have a Happy Christmas!
