Just another short Kelsey fic. Jess finds a picture of Sam, Kelsey, and Dean. She naturally asks about it.

Jess asked him about the picture more than once.

She was interested, having found a piece of her boyfriend's mysterious past.

It wasn't a terribly amazing photo, just a simple shot. It was Sam, looking to be in his early teens, and two people she didn't know. Neither looked much older than him. One was a pretty, petite blonde girl, wearing a camoflague baseball cap with the word "Princess" stitched in white. She smirks, sitting on the hood of an old car with her knees drawn up to her chest. The other person is a young man, older than Sam, leaning against the car and laughing. Sam is smiling affectionately at both of them, and appears to be shaking his head in exasperation.

The back reads, "Sam, Kelsey, and Dean. June seventh, 1996."

A few days later, Jess has to ask. She tilts her head at him as he walks into the kitchen. "Sam... Who are Kelsey and Dean?" She asks quietly.

He stiffens. "Why do you ask? Did one of them call?" He asks nervously.

"No. I found your picture... all of you together..." She says softly, smiling.

The tension leaves him. He smiles slightly. "Nobody, Jess." He mumbles. "Nobody."

A few weeks after that, she did it again.

"Are they friends of yours from back home?" She asks, looking at him across the living room.

He turns, confused. "Who?" He asks.

She rolls her eyes. "Kelsey and Dean." She explains.

He chuckles. "Oh. Nah." He shakes his head and goes back to whatever he was doing on the computer.

She sighs. "Sam, I'm serious. Who are they?" She pleads gently.

"My family." He says sharply, frowning. And then his face softens. "My brother and sister." He rubs his forehead, looking very tired all of a sudden.

Jess raises her eyebrows. "You never told me about them. What are they like?" She asks softly.

He chuckles. "They're both stubborn, pigheaded, stupid, and reckless. And I love them both very much." He shuts off the computer and gets up, kissing her on the cheek before leaving the room.

She doesn't ask again.
