Disclaimer: I don't own KH. If I did... I would be in it. And Sora would love me.
Summary: I am very tired of everyone always assuming these characters will have a perfect relationship and this popped into my head. I'm not really sure if I'm going to continue on with this or what. I just kept thinking about this and figured, "Oh, to hell with it, I shall write it." I could just picture Sora saying that, I guess. XD It's short... and pretty much... I don't know. It's not my best but I don't really mind. As I've gotten older the idea of Sora and Kairi always being together just didn't seem to work anymore. Hm. I don't know. I might ellaborate on this or make a new 3 year anniversary fic or whateverrr. You know. XD Comment it! Nya!
They had all the right words. They always assumed the best because something amazing had happened.
"He saved the world for her!" they would say, "There are no other options except the Happily Ever After!"
But just because something amazing happened, it doesn't mean we will stay together, right?
Was it wrong of her to think that? Was she supposed to love him forever? But his eyes no longer sent her mind into a frenzy and his smile didn't paint her face scarlet. His lips lacked the urgency and passion they could once press to her. His freckles weren't cute anymore. His huge banana feet were too noisy. His childlike laugh had warped into something older and she never found herself laughing just because of it anymore.
The long nights and hot days and taken a toll on her mind and she didn't feel like she could fake these emotions anymore. As she sat with him in her little purple room he seemed just as lost, as well. He ran his fingers through his mussed hair and she sat watching him as she played with the threads of the thick yellow carpet.
Maybe he was as tired of this as she was.
She glanced up at all the old pictures framing the walls.
They sat on the pier with sea-salt icecream, smiling.
Sora with blue icing smeared all over his face and hair while Riku stuck out his tongue.
The three of them on the beach watching the sun.
She and Sora holding hands, their faces red, unknown of the camera, and then the two of them kissing. She had promised to kill Riku after that but eventually gave up. The wall was lined with their love and friendship.
Her gaze fell to the pile of recent pictures on her lap.
She sat in front of a paopu-shaped cake on her 17th birthday and his mouth was shaped in a smile but his eyes were sad.
A picture of them sitting side by side while Roxas was busy groping at Olette.
All the pictures were supposed to be of happy moments but instead all they did was remind her of how sad she really was.
She gave him everything. He gave her everything.
Their parents and friends happily assumed marraige and she smiled to them as screamed inside. She didn't want her life figured out so soon. Did he? Should she just accept all this?
He motioned to her with his finger and she crawled over to him. His eyes were far off, thinking about something or someone else. Sighing, she melted into him, rolling herself into a ball, his arms around her. He buried his face in her hair and smelled the raspberry scent he was so familiar with. Toying idily with the silver chain around his neck the girl cleared her throat but was cut off, "Sor-"
"I don't love you anymore."
She heard that hollow sound in her body. Blood rushed to her ears and her face was hot. Her heart thumped hard agaisnt her chest twice.
Her eyes stung and she laughed, "Yeah, I know."
Pulling back, he stared at her body without speaking. She laughed again and tugged hair out of her face, "I don't love you either."
