the last time they met was at the dock in the wintertime.
the streetlight shone on her face, making her seem angelic.
"i hate you." she started walking away from him.
he stayed silent, knowing that he should let her go.
this realization hurt him, but it was for the best, as his conscience told him.
without her, it said, he would be able to accomplish more.
she was only a burden to him. she held him back from everything.
she was an annoyance that he needing to let go of.
the silence was deafening. it merely made her think.
the waves were the only sound that they could hear.
her pace quickened. she was about to start running.
running – the something that she was the best at.
she had started running even before she learned how to walk.
she was now the best runner on the track team.
since there was no response, she started running away.
he didn't know why, but he was moving — running actually.
there was no way that he could catch up with her.
she was much faster than he was. it was impossible.
"sakura!" he ran towards her, wondering where she was headed.
he had lost track of her. he tried to find her.
she stood still at the end of the pier.
"sakura!" he yelled one last time.
this was of no use. she did nothing.
she spun around and looked at him.
she smiled and waved, which reminded him of the first time they met.
it was during middle school. he was in her art class.
they were partnered up for a project in which they were to draw portraits of each other.
as soon as she figured out that he was her partner, she smiled and waved at him.
they had spoken to each other and eventually started dating. just like any other normal relationship.
she was still smiling at waving at this moment.
she turned back around and just stood there, staring into the depths of the ocean.
"goodbye, sasuke." she muttered as she took a leap into the freezing black water.
he looked into the water. she didn't come back up.
he was completely paralyzed. she had just killed herself. and it was all because of him.
