It was dark. That was the first thing my mind registered. I found myself sitting in a chair in my high school's auditorium. There was a spotlight on the stage, but it was dim. I could barely see because it was the only light in the room.

I knew that I was dreaming, but I didn't feel sleepy. I was quite the opposite, actually. I felt tense, alert. My senses were heightened. I got up, out of the seat and stood for a moment. I watched the spotlight and waited. I guessed there could be a show, but no one came out onto the stage. I looked around the auditorium. I was still alone.

I didn't want to call out for anybody. I felt the need to leave the room. So I did.

I walked out into the space with red carpet and bulletin boards. There were posters on the boards with my face on them. I was confused. I looked around. Still no one.

The poster was starting to freak me out, so I walked away from it. I started running down the hall. I saw light so I ran to it. I reached the space again. There was light, now, and people were in line. They didn't look happy. They looked dark…they looked dead.

I turned back, edgy. This wasn't normal, and I knew it. I checked behind me again, but the people were gone. It wasn't as bright as before, either. I heard screams coming from the auditorium. I ran inside, worried and terrified. Suddenly a burnt man with a claw for a hand lunged at me. I screamed, only to realize that I was on the stage and my screams were echoing throughout the room. His claw went into my stomach and twisted.

I woke up screaming and thrashing around, terrified. I fell onto the floor and started coughing. I looked down at my stomach and saw blood running down.

Suddenly the man with the burned face stood over me.

"Good night, Andy," he whispered, and he started cackling right after I started screaming.

My eyes snapped open a second time and the pain in my stomach remained. I looked down to see the same thing from my dream. Then my vision started to fade and the pain started to melt away slowly.

My mother found my body in the morning.
