Korra was frantic. Zaheer, Amon, and Vaatu had somehow come back and they were tearing up Republic City.
"How… How is this possible? TELL ME!" Korra demanded, clearly exhausted from the battle.
"You are in no condition to be making demands avatar." Amon said in his dark cool voice.
"Yes… You will follow our orders. You will do as we say!" Vaatu said, in the body of a resurrected Unalaq.
"N-n… NEVER!" Korra shouted, as she struggled to get back to her feet.
"Now, Korra," Zaheer began "We can do this the easy way…" He gestured behind Amon, revealing Asami, clearly beaten and battered.
"No…" Korra's eyes widened. ".. You wouldn't DARE!" She accused angrily.
"Oh, but we do dare." Vaatu said in a malicious voice.
"K-K-Korra…?" Asami asked, dazed and beaten.
"Asami?" Korra asked, her voice full of concern.
"Korra… Please… Don't do anything they want you to do. You're the Avatar. You can do anything." Asami said with a small smile on her face whilst talking to Korra.
The vile trio started beating Asami, all the while taunting Korra.
"You can stop this if you join us."
"If you agree to our demands we will let her go."
"You're only causing her more pain"
Korra couldn't register who was talking and when. She was focused on Asami. Korra was thrashing around in an attempt to rescue her wife.
"Let. Her. Go." Korra's voice echoed in the city ruins. She was still attempting to escape the binds she was in.
Korra?
She recognised the voice. It was Asami, clearly concerned about her. She started to fight back harder, while she didn't see Asami speak, she instinctively knew that voice, and would not stop until the persons who harmed her beloved wife were dead. No others enraged her to this point. All Korra wanted to do was turn Asami's assailants into corpses. "I SAID LET HER GO!" She screamed, trying to breathe fire, but finding herself unable to
Korra?
There was Asami's voice again, the voice was more concerned than last time. While Korra could not breathe fire, she felt the ground shake, and started to use earthbending to fight back.
Korra!?
Asami's voice was beginning to get even clearer than before. She was sounding rather worried. "Get away from her!" Korra shouted at the trio assaulting Asami. She frantically started launching rocks at them.
Korra...!
The voice was getting louder, and while Asami had long since been beaten unconscious, Korra did not find it strange. All she wanted to do was to avenge her wife
Korra! WAKE UP!
Wake up? What is she talking about? After all, Asami was the one unconscious. Korra winced, this was something out of her nightmares.
Wait a minute.
"Korra! Korra! are you alright? Wake up! You're having a nightmare!
Korra blinked. She was no longer in the ruins of Republic City. She was in bed, with Asami.
"Oh, thank the spirits, you're okay. What was it that got you so frantic Korra? Was it Zaheer or Vaatu again? Amon?"
Korra turned to face Asami, then quickly embraced her. "I… I-I thought you were gone..." She sobbed.
"It's alright sweetie." Asami said soothingly, she pulled Korra to her chest, "Here, listen to my heartbeat Korra."
Korra whimpered a bit but calmed down once she heard the sound of Asami's heartbeat.
"It's okay Korra, I'm still here. You don't have to worry anymore." Asami said comforting the woman she loved.
"I love you. Don't ever leave me." Korra said, finally able to fall asleep.
"I'll never leave you Korra. I love you too." Asami said. Her hand stroking Korra's hair lovingly.
