Sirius smiled as he ran his hands through Remus' hair, loving the feeling of the soft strands between his fingers. His best friend gripped him tighter, arms around his waist.

"Sirius, I'm scared. What if they hate us?"

"Moony, for Merlin's sake. This is Prongs we're talking about, and we both know Lily does a hell of a good job keeping him in line."

Remus smiled gently and lifted his head from Sirius' shoulder. He tilted his head to look at the slightly taller boy and pressed their lips together in a gentle kiss.

"Yeah, I suppose you're right Padfoot." He grinned suddenly. "That'll be a first, then."

"Oi, shut it Moony. Just because you're abnormally clever."

"I am not. There's this thing. It's called studying, you should try it sometime." Remus retorted with a grin.

Sirius adapted a mock-hurt look, but flashed Remus a smile and kissed him again.

"Come on, we can do this. Together."

Remus pressed their foreheads together and closed his eyes.

"Together."
