Disclaimer: The Disreputable Dog/Kibeth, Lirael, Sam, Sabriel, etc. are characters that do not belong to me. They are copyrighted Garth Nix.
Author's Note: This is really kind of a prose-poem-thing. Or something.Just to tell you. Also... it seems a little… emotionalfor Lirael, don't you think?
Disreputable Dog…
I never thought you're name would make me weep.
Why did you do it?
Why did you save me?
Why did you leave me?
I never thought about what your name meant to me.
It's my whole life, my own haven.
I need you here now, right by my side.
I need you to help me get by in my life.
Sam and Sabriel are pleasant,
But you're unsurpassed.
No one can replace you, no one at all.
When will I see you?
Can I visit you in Death?
Will you be waiting in the Ninth Precinct?
Waiting just for me?
Should I go visit you?
Just for a while?
I know that I might die, but I won't care.
I need you here, right by my side,
Whatever the cost.
How will I live?
How dare you die?
You know that I need you, and you need me too.
Will I ever see you again?
Will you ever be by my side?
Just like old times when we played incessantly.
I miss you Dog,
I miss you more than ever.
Come back to me,
I need you right now.
Disreputable Dog—Kibeth…
I never thought that you're name would make me weep.
