I do not own Harry Potter.

Dear Diary,

Today was my first official day at Hogwarts. It was certainly an exciting day. I woke up this morning at the crack of dawn to make sure everything was packed and ready to go, including my owl Fiore. My mum made me an egg white omlet and gave me a side of fresh picked strawberries for breakfast.

My brother Hugo was really upset today. He seemed to be crying, even though he said he wasn't. He did perk up a bit when we reached the station and he saw Lily.

I was so excited to go that I had already changed into my Hogwart's robes before we even got on the train. My mother said that first impressions are always important. My father doesn't live by those rules, to my Mother's dismay and annoyance.

That's when I saw HIM. He was with his parents, and he was absolutely beautiful. My dad said I needed to beat him at every test, and that Grandad Weasley would never forgive me for marrying a Pureblood.

There isn't anything wrong with blood. My mum and the Great War taught everyone that. Well, most people. My mum said there would always be those who were prejudiced against other people, but that we just had to try and be the best, most accepting people we could be. I asked mum about the Malfoys because dad always goes on and on about them. Mum just rolled her eyes and said to ignore dad.

She says that a lot. It is actually pretty sound advice. Besides, I am a modern woman. I can marrying whomever I choose! If I decide to marry a Pureblood then everyone in my family will just have to deal with it. Besides, I already like the sound of Mrs. Rose Malfoy.

My mum said that I should try and write down the important events that happen in my life. Today I was sorted into Ravenclaw, to the disappointment of every single cousin at Griffyndor. I was the first Weasley in generations not to be a Lion. The hat said that Ravenclaw would suit me better, and that in time I might even be able to pass my mother's intelligence. I seriously doubt that. My mum is the smartest person I know. She is also beautiful, kind, funny, and sometimes snarky. I would love to be even half as great as she is.

Albus was sorted into Slytherin with Scorpius. He was supposed to sit with me on the train, but we got separated in the hustle to find a compartment. Albus stumbled across Scorpius, and I stumbled across Kaylee Macmillan, my new friend. It looks like Albus and I both made new friends today. Hopefully we'll still be ale to stay close and be friends even though we're in different houses. I'm not going to let something as trivial as being in different houses stop me from being friends with him.

Anyways, I should go to bed. I need to be well rested so I can get up for my first lesson of the day. It's DADA!

Bye,

Rose
