Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Fergus Breaks the Rules" from Season 7, with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.
Thomas and Fergus the traction engine are really good friends on the Island of Sodor.
Fergus is the pride of the Cement Works, and knows all the rules and obeys them.
But one morning, Sir Topham Hatt came to the Cement Works. He had big news.
"I am bringing Diesel to work at the Cement Works." he announced. "Fergus, you are to show him around."
"Yes sir." said Fergus unhappily.
The next day, Diesel arrived.
And like always, Diesel was being devious. He was pushing the freight cars too far.
"Don't pull them that far!" called Fergus.
"I know what I'm doing!" snapped Diesel.
But Diesel ended up being covered in cement dust.
"You don't know the rules!" shouted Fergus.
Diesel was cross. He began hatching a plan to pay back Fergus.
Later that day, he came to see Fergus with news.
"Sir Topham Hatt wants you to work at the Iron Works!" he said.
"But I'm the pride of the Cement Works!" said Fergus.
"Sir Topham Hatt says I'm better than you, so I'm going to stay here!"
"It's not fair, I like working here!"
Really, Diesel was lying to Fergus, but Fergus had to listen to Diesel, as really useful engines never argue and do as they are told.
That night, Fergus and his driver arrived at the Iron Works.
"I want to go back to the Cement Works!" wailed Fergus. "This place is really scary!"
"You're right." said his driver.
Just then, 'Arry and Bert arrived.
"Happy to be here?" they teased.
"NO!" cried Fergus.
His driver was scared too.
"Come on Fergus! We need to get out of here!"
For the first time, Fergus had broken the rules.
Sir Topham Hatt was enjoying a lovely fish supper when the phone rang.
"Fergus is missing!" said the stationmaster.
"There must be something wrong. I'll be right there with Thomas."
Fergus and his driver followed abandoned track. They were very scared.
Meanwhile, Sir Topham Hatt and Thomas were looking all across Sodor for Fergus.
"We could search the old abandoned mine track." suggested Thomas's driver.
"Good idea!" said Sir Topham Hatt.
Soon, they located Fergus, on a siding.
Sir Topham Hatt wasn't cross, but he was disappointed.
"You are not in trouble Fergus." he said, "but why did you run away?"
"Because Diesel told me to work at the Iron-Works." said Fergus.
"So I see. You can return to the Cement Works, and I'll send Diesel here instead."
"Thank you sir!" said Fergus happily.
Fergus knew that he was still the pride of the Cement Works, and was proud to be part of Sir Topham Hatt's railway.
