Blam Coffee Shop AU - Blam Week Day 5! Just a short little something!

Thunder Of Love

The wind dragged on his hair and blew a huge amount of rain right into Sam's face. Only five minutes earlier the sky had been as light blue as his Shirt and now there was thunder rolling through the air. Damn you, sudden summer storms.

Sam flew into the next best shop and realised it was a Starbucks. Nice! Just what he needed after having run through the whole city to get a grip on the new Lord Of The Rings DVD box set that included a sensational addiction of even more behind the scenes footage than the old box set.

More and more people came in to shelter from the rain and it got crowded. Sam stood in line and read the menu. He would need an iced Latte with extra ice cream because rain or not, this summer was freaking hot.

After he got his mug he took the last free table and secretly sneered at the costumers who had come in after him because they would have to bother other people now.

"Excuse me, is this seat taken?"

Oh, damn, looked like he was one of those 'other people'. He told the old lady to sit down and just after that, two young teenage girls took the two seats opposite to him without asking.

Sam leaned to the old lady besides him.

"The youth of today, huh?"

She frowned upon him as if she thought he wasn't old himself. But he was, he had just turned twenty-eight last month. Sam shrugged and concentrated on his Latte.

"Excuse me… is somebody sitting here?"

A man gestured to the last free chair on the table on Sam's other side.

"No, dude, knock yourself out", Sam said.

"Thanks!" The man smiled at Sam who held his eyes for a few moments. The man was pretty attractive and his black curls were damn cute.

What could be said against a little coffee flirt?

"You know, there's one condition I ask for sitting in this chair, though", he said as the man had put his shopping bags down and settled down on the chair. He looked up from stirring his coffee, a bit surprised.

"You have to tell me your name", Sam spoke on. The man's eyes got big. Maybe he'd identified Sam's voice as flirty and felt uncomfortable now? Sam was about to let it go as the man lightly shook his head and smiled a heart-warming smile.

"I'm Blaine. And you are…?"

"Sam I am", he answered and held his hand out.

"Nice to meet you, Sam", Blaine said as he shook it. Then he grinned and looked down, head shaking. "I just can't believe such a handsome guy like you would want to talk to me."

Sam returned the grin. Bingo, he was actually interested!

"Oh, hey, if you don't want to talk, there's plenty of other things I can do with my mouth. For example swallowing this lid. Well, I would demonstrate it to you but I fear this is a very personal thing I'm only doing at home", Sam said, holding up a lid from someone who'd sat here before.

Blaine laughed. "Please don't, I believe you! It doesn't look very hygienic, too."

"You're right. Let's get rid of it." Sam threw it at the girls and then pretended to calmly drink his coffee. He didn't know what was driving him, he never acted that foolish around strangers. But he also hadn't spent very much time with close friends lately, and he missed joking around.

The girls gave him despising looks. As they turned away Blaine giggled and Sam couldn't suppress his grin anymore.

Sunshine fell on the table and he turned around to look out of the window. The sky cleared up already, and only the dripping roofs were a proof that he hadn't imagined the rain.

Starbucks got emptier by the second but Sam stayed. He enjoyed Blaine's company as if they had been friends forever and they ended up changing seats to the sofas and drinking three more coffees.

Years later as they were a married couple they'd still come to that special Starbucks branch and would drink a cup of coffee on the anniversary of their first meeting that had been as fateful as if Fortuna herself had arranged it.
