"But Rach, it's a Kit Kat bar! It's my favorite; you have to try it, please?" Rachel sighed and looked at her best friend, brown eyes taking in her pout and pleading hazel eyes. "Lucy, I've explained to you that I am a vegan and as much as I would like to try this Kit Kat bar, it would go against my beliefs and I must ask you to respect that or risk ending our friendship!" Lucy gasped, hazel eyes filling instantly with tears "Ray, no! I'm sorry, please still be my friend. I just wanted you to try it because it's my favorite and I got it for being good in class and I wanted you to be proud of me." Rachel looked at her best friend and quickly wrapped her up in a hug. "Please don't cry Lucy, I am very proud of you and I suppose one bite can't hurt." Lucy grinned "Yay!" She hurriedly and clumsily unwrapped the candy bar, dropping half of it in the sand on the playground that was quickly scooped up by a tall little boy, who ran to the other end of the playground, stuffing the sandy chocolate bar in his mouth along the way. "Hey!" Lucy yelled, "That was mine, give it back!" The tall boy ignored her, and she turned sadly to Rachel "I'm sorry Ray, I didn't mean to drop it." Rachel smiled "We still have the other half Lucy, so we can share that, okay?" Lucy grinned and nodded, breaking off half for herself and half for Rachel. Rachel looked hesitantly at the candy bar, then closed her eyes and took a big bite. Her eyes popped open "Lucy, this is delicious!" She looked over at her best friend to see her cheeks puffed out and her mouth covered in chocolate, and she couldn't help but laugh. "Lucy, you got it all over your mouth!" Lucy blushed and wiped at her mouth with the back of her hand. "Lucy!" Rachel scolded, "That is not the proper way to clean up after a mess!" "Sorry Ray" Lucy said, frowning "I just wanted to eat mine first so I could see your face when you ate yours so I would know if you liked it or not" Rachel smiled "Well, I enjoyed It very much; now let's go get you cleaned up before class." She held out her hand for Lucy, and the two walked hand in hand back to class, with Lucy cheerfully singing the Kit Kat song at the top her lungs.
