Hey there beauties, this fic is set after they save Emma from the darkness (which better happen...) and is just a short one shot idea that pooped into my head. Enjoy
Killian Jones looked up at the stars through the window of the apartment in Storybrooke that he shared with Emma and half the time Henry. Currently Henry was at Regina and Emma was asleep. Well he thought ruefully she should be asleep, it was 2 in the morning after all. He sighed and stared at the tiny bright dots in the distance surrounded by a sea of black. He remembered nights on the Jolly Roger, especially after his brother and Milah died, when he would stand at the wheel and just stare above him. Of course, those had been completely different stars, but it always calmed him. He heard the floor creak behind him and smiled as he felt her arms wrap around him.
"Why are you awake?" she asked groggily. If he had to guess he would say that she had half woken up and when she didn't feel him next to her, she had become worried that he had been captured. The compilation of all the disasters that had occurred in Storybrooke would make anyone a little paranoid.
Thinking this he couldn't help but remember the time when he had thought that Emma was beyond saving. A time when it had seemed as though the Emma that he had known and loved was gone forever, replaced by a dark monster who only had the vaguest resemblance to Emma Swan. Shaking off these dark thoughts he turned in her embrace and wrapped his arms around her and only said, "Just looking at the stars, love," in response to her earlier question.
She looks at him in confusion. "You're not on a ship anymore, Captain. You don't need to look to stars for navigation or whatever it is you do." She says this barely keeping a straight face.
He smiles at her and kisses her lightly on the nose which elicits a sweet smile from her. "Indeed not, love," he say with a grin as he whips his arm around her back and the back of her knees picking her up with ease, "I'm here, with you." She grins and leans up to kiss him as he carries her back into their room.
Later Killian looks down at Emma as she sleeps wrapped in his arms. She lips are curved into a small smile and Killian thinks about the times in his very long life when the stars seemed to be the only bright thing in his life. Maybe he doesn't need to watch the stars millions of miles away anymore because he has his very own star, and she's laying right next to him.
Hope you liked it! Please review!
