Rose Weasley and Scorpius Malfoy had been friends since first year, when they were both sorted into Slytherin. This surprised all of Rose's relatives, but didn't surprise Rose herself one bit. Throughout their first 3 years at Hogwarts, Rose and Scorpius stayed close friends, but over the summer before their 4th year, their friendship seemed to change.

Rose was sat down by the lake in the forest near Malfoy manor. Scorpius, Al, herself and her best friend Grace were all out there for the day swimming and having fun.

Grace came and sat next to her.

"Trying to get a tan?" She laughed.

"You know I just burn" Rose grinned back, "nah, I'm just enjoying the view"

"As in the lake, or Scorp?" Grace teased.

"Both" Rose laughed. "Since when has Scorp been that toned?!" She said, glancing towards Scorpius, who was having a water fight with Al.

"I dunno, but that 6 pack is definitely worth fantasising over" Grace said in agreement.

"He was such a scrawny git in first year, how come his arms have become that muscly in three years?" Rose added.

"And sorry, but I'm certain I saw v lines when his shorts slipped a little" Grace laughed. "But yes, you're enjoying the view"

"Mmmm" Rose murmured as Scorpius jumped up out of the water, dripping wet and shaking the water out of his slightly overgrown hair.

"You alright there, girls?" He smirked as he sauntered over. Both girls' chins hit the floor.

"Enjoying the view" Rose muttered.

"Of me or the lake" he grinned, winking.

"It would be lying if she said the lake" Grace quickly chimed in.

"So rosie thinks I'm sexy then" Scorp smirked again, sitting down a bit too close next to Rose for comfort.

"Don't flatter yourself, Scorp" she laughed.

"You're lying, your ears have gone red" he grinned. He put an arm around her waist when she dropped her head in embarrassment. "Want me to make it easier for you Rose?"

"How on earth could you make this easier?"

"I can give you a motive to stare at my chest" he said gently, pulling her closer.

"And what would that be?" She asked quietly.

"Well, how about if I asked you out and you said yes?" He smiled. "Then you can look at my chest as much as you like"

"Let me think about it" Rose said, and after a moments pause, "No."

"Why not?!" Scorpius spluttered.

"Because I said so" she poked her tongue out. At that, she stood up and dived into the water.

"She does like you, you know" Grace said to a flabbergasted Scorpius.

"How do you know?"

"You can see it in her eyes" Grace grinned. "Don't give up yet"
