AN: I only recently finished watching the Avatar series on Netflix and this little drabble hit me.

In the prison of Boiling Rock, there were no shortage of fighters and

Amongst their number, a young woman with short auburn hair and normally teasing green eyes worked her way through a series of well-practised katas.

Suki prided herself on being a superb fighter, the best of the Kyoshi Warriors. Earning a place as their leader had been hard as they all faced her and lost. In their role of protecting Kyoshi Island safe, they had proved themselves in battle against rowdy traders and travellers and even Fire Nation Firebenders. They believed they were tough, exceptional warriors.

They were wrong.

Azula and her friends Ty Lee and Mai had defeated them without even breaking a sweat. For all their prowess and training, they were no more than a few minutes distraction to the three girls from the Fire Nation. Even Suki was no match for them, especially not Ty Lee and her powerful chi-blocking skills.

And then there had been the weeks she had spent in captivity with Azula tormenting her as she taunted her about how her friends and especially Sokka had forgotten her. That had been hard to endure. Suki was so certain that they would come that every day that passed hurt.

But now, in the exercise yard of Boiling Rock, she had found her drive once more. Sokka had finally come and with company she would never have expected. Sooner or later, she was going to face Ty Lee again and when that time happened Suki was determined to be ready.

Yes Suki may have been beaten, but she was determined to be ready for the next time.
